Can anyone comment on this event? I'm thinking of going, but what do you do on Fri & Sat? Is it a visit vendors and check out the parked Jeeps kind of thing, or is there any trail riding to do? That is, other than the Driver's Challenge course. Or is it fun to just hang out and watch guys run that course? I see the scheduled trail rides on the flyer, so Sunday looks fun, just not sure. I have a wife, 15 year old boy, 14 year old boy, and 8 year old daughter, debating on going and whether to bring all/any of the family.

I went to the first one in 2012 and I planned on going last year, but I sold me TJ before the event. Now I have a JKUR and I will likely attend this year. When I went, I got up there late Friday night just in time to get our registration packet. We checked into our motel and that was pretty much it. We could have found something to do, but there were 3 families and little ones so we just relaxed for the night. On Saturday we did the course and watched for a while. The two guys I was with both did the concrete crawl, I didn't. I would say that between getting all three families ready, doing the course, and watching some others we spent the morning and a bit of the afternoon doing that. Then we went to the Riverwalk Place and parked in the lot. We checked out the vendors and looked at all the other Jeeps. At some point on Saturday there was the trunk or treating, which was fun especially for the kids. There was a drawing for prizes and they did give away quite a few of them. Sunday was a nice, easy, scenic ride. The trails were mostly seasonal type roads. Really nothing challenging.

This year I am planning on going, but I haven't registered yet. I hope the course is bigger and longer because though it was fun, it took maybe 10 minutes to get through it. This year I will likely go to Rocks and Valleys at some point, probably Saturday morning into mid afternoon. It all depends on how much there is to do and if anything has changed since the first one. I would say if you haven't been to it before go ahead and do it.

Thanks duner, I appreciate the input. Our JKU is my wife's daily driver, so we won't do much more than seasonal roads and dunes with it I don't think. In a few years we will get her another vehicle, and that one will be our toy (small lift, tires, etc. etc.). Until then we have to be easy on it.

We'll probably go on Saturday, check out the other Jeeps, do the truck/treat for my daughter, listen to some live music and have some beers, spend the night and then some trail riding on Sunday. I guess a lot depends on the weather, so I probably won't register until 5 or 7 days prior to the event. I will be traveling from the Muskegon area.

Thanks again for the input!

I'm in the Muskegon area as well. Maybe we could caravan up there, I like traveling with other Jeeps.
