You should look up the Sundowners, local Kalamazoo club and while not all are Jeepers, enough are and should be a good source of information.

Hey all. Thanks for the shoutbacks!

I just ordered the softtop and will be installing that next week.

Figuring out the next mod is going to be fun.

Right now it's do I lift, get new wheels and tires, or just get new wheels and tires. This is going to be 90/10 Daily driver to Weekend trails (mud/sand)

Any thoughts?

Joe

If you hadn't said mud, my vote is either the GY Duratrack or BFG AT. I know guys that run the GY and love them, and I have 6+ yrs and 100k+ miles on BFG AT doing double duty, but neither is worth a hill of beans in the mud.

Id say it depends on long term goals, budget, etc. Its cheaper in the long run to do as much at once as you can and not have to do things twice. If youre going to lift it eventually, how big are you going to go? What size tires do you want to run? If you arent sure yet and dont have plans to dump a ton of money into it right out of the gate, pick up a set of 32 or 33 inch duratracs and call it good until you have a better idea of what exactly you want to do. Id definitely vote for the duratrac for anything <35". I went through 2 sets on my WJ and have them on my JK and my girlfriends JK. If you want something that wears better and has grip, the silent armor is a great tire, too. Ive never been much a fan of the BFG's. Some people love em, though!

I'm getting my dads wheels and tires from his 12 JK. I have to get a 2" lift to fit them in my YJ.

I was really happy with the combination of 2" BDS springs and 5/8" lift MORE Boomerang shackles (F&R) with grease-able shackles. Plus the F&R Track Bar delete kit. Gave me about 3-4" lift over stock, enough for 32's but 33's rubbed.
