Why is she against the trip? If she doesn't like the high price of the trip, there are several clubs in the state that have trips/events there throughout the summer for a hell of a lot less money. I know my wife is very pennywise I wanted to go this year and you should have seen the look on her face when I told her the cost. I think she asked if the trip came with a free TV or something to that effect.
As far as selling it you could say that you want to take her on a little weekend getaway on beautiful Drummond Island (convieniently on the same weekend as the JJ). Forget to tell her about the jeep jamboree, and as long as you're there that weekend anyway, go on the the trail rides and join in the fun.
You know there is no need to pay to go during the Jeep jamboree. There are other off road clubs that go there and there is no charge.
I know, but for the first time off road, I thought the "professional" help would be good. I've also been to many Viper Owners Invitationals which is a similar format. My wife likes these, so that maybe an incentive.
I know this thread is old, but it's named exactly what I want to talk about so I figured I'd try to bring it back from the dead. The 2014 Jeep Jamboree is coming up in June and I'm curious who is going? I haven't registered yet but I think I will be this weekend. Where do people stay while there, hotels or campers?
I went to Drummond last year and stayed at the Birch Tree. We made it to Marble Head but didn't get in the mud, mainly the rocky trail there and then took the same way back. We started down some if the muddy two tracks but the wives said no. This time my wife isn't coming, she's not a fan of slow crawling and risky maneuvers.
I am in Livonia......just west of Detroit. We are driving up early on Thursday. I have an Anvil 2014 JKUR...315's with Flat Fenders...stop in and say hello. Where are you staying this year? How was Birch Tree? They all looked the same on line and this one had vacancy.
I haven't made reservations yet, I need to get on that. Birch Tree worked out well. It's not the Amway Grand or even the Holiday Inn, but if suited me just fine. My wife on the other hand is a bit more picky, but she was okay with it. The unit we stayed in had three bedrooms, kitchen, living room, and dining room. We had two families in there with 4 kids and it worked out pretty well. If I can get in there again I will stay there. I drive a 2014 JKURX in Anvil. We should be able to find each other.
