I'm pretty new to the Jeeping community - mainly stock JK for now.
My high-school age brother is coming to Michigan to visit me in two weeks and I figured I'd take him and my girlfriend to the Mounds (or another ORV park) on 6/18.
I've only been to the Mounds once before, and by chance ran into the Wicked Jeeps group out there and followed some of them around on the trails. Since I have a beginner's lack of skill/knowledge and I hear it's not a good idea to go off-road alone, I was wondering if any wonderful Jeepers would like to meet up, wheel around, and hang out for the day. Or half a day, doesn't matter.
I'm really just looking for someone to hang out with so we don't wheel alone. I promise I'm somewhat chill and not a creep.
I'm located in livingston county & would like to hit the Mounds sometime. I'm also very new (Jeep owner for a grand total of 3 days! Lol)
Scheduled to be working this Saturday, but maybe sometime this summer for sure.
You should definitely let me know! I try to keep my weekends pretty busy, but if it lines up correctly, we could have a small group of newbies head up!
0k, so the weekday thing must not work for folks?. I'm new to this as well and would like to hit the mounds and bundy..., but I think it would be more fun with other Jeepers. Being retired my schedule is pretty much open. So let me know....
Take care,
Weekdays don't work for me because my weekdays are pretty packed.
I feel like maybe we could even have a thread for people to post when they want to go and see if anybody else is free and/or interested? I know some groups post events, maybe that would help as well!
I mainly just go when I have a free weekend! I'll definitely come back here to see if anybody's interested when I have a date.
I've been twice. Met a bunch of Wicked Jeeps there by happy accident the first time.
There's some intense stuff! Don't go INTO the mud holes - I almost did and some dude yelled at me. Good thing, because later I saw another Jeep sunken up to the hood in the mud, getting winched out.
There are other trails that are not bad for a stock Jeep, and some play areas. Pretty fun! As long as you evaluate where you're going and have a feel for what your vehicle can do, it should be pretty fun.
Hey there,
No worries, I know life can be crazy and folks these days are super busy. So, please keep me in mind if anyone heads there or Bundy or... Another thought might be if folks don't have a ton of time for a whole day outing maybe a drive in the country and stopping for a meal and talk Jeep-stuff could be cool. For me I look for reasons to going riding, even if it`s not wheeling.
We live out in the Chelsea/Manchester area, which has some nice views, narrow winding dirt roads and with wildlife. Just a thought, kinda eager to hang with some of the folks I may have been waving to and talk JEEPS!
Take care,
I shall think of you all! I guess we can use this thread for communication when people want to head out and do stuff. I'm just south of Auburn Hills. A meetup would be awesome!
Sounds awesome! I think the way you started the this thread with dates and destination works well...Now that I know where to look.
Hope you see you folks soon, take care
I am up for some wheelin. Even a little drive around. I am available July 9,16 & 17. Anyone up for the mounds I have not been to Bundy hill. I here kinda easy to get turn d around. Might want someone who knows there way around.
I'm in genesee county. Also for those looking for a club. I have been hanging out with some people from "what lies beyond" jeep club. Not a member yet. Have gone to a few meetings seem like good people.
You should join Great Lakes 4x4 if you're not already a member. It's a good local 4x4 forum for Michigan area and you'll have better responses there when trying to set up local meets/events. GreatLakes4x4.com
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
