Lenawee county jeepers

Putting a feeler out there to see the interest in some fellow jeepers from the adrian/tecumseh and surrounding areas possibly meeting up once a week to just bs about jeeps and stuff. Let's see who's interested.

We'll considering your the first to reply in over a month since I originally posted this. It looks like it's just you and I, lol. I really thought there would be more people replying to this. I am in tecumseh so not far at all. What kind of rig you have? We can come up with some place to meet up if we come across more that may be interested. Thanks, Kevin.

From Jackson here. I posted a similar thread 6 months ago and got no replies. You have surpassed me by 200%. My wife and I have been looking to join a club for wheeling and fellowship but there doesn't seem to be anything in central southern mi. I find that odd as I see tons of Jeeps everyday. Myself I like talking jeeps, driving Jeeps, wheeling Jeeps, and wrenching on Jeeps. I have a pretty well set up pole barn with lots of tools, hoist, welder, plasma cutter, etc. I love to fabricate. I would be up for some wrenching weekends as doing it all by your self takes a bit of the fun out of it.
If you guys decide to get together let me know, we would be interested. Thanks, Bruce

Definitely interested in meeting up with people. Just bought my wife her first jeep also. She is hooked for sure. She's been bitten by the mod bug more than once I think lol. Where in Jackson are you? Maybe try to meet somewhere between Dundee and you so fordy can meet up if he's interested. Let's keep this going

Nice to meet you Kevin, we are in Michigan Center on the SE side of Jackson. My wife (Amy) and I will be in your neck of the woods tonight, our son wrestles in Clinton.
We look forward to meeting new people especially fellow Jeepers. Our schedule is very flexible with the exception Wednesdays and Saturdays (wrestling). We are usually done by 5pm on Saturdays.
Do you guys like to off-road? We love going up north, hitting the trails with a map/GPS and exploring. We also enjoy camping and kayaking. Checking out the off-road parks is fun too. We've been to Bundy Hill countless times and Silver Lake (Amy's not a fan) as well. Would like to check out others like The Mounds, Rocks and Valleys, Badlands, etc.

I know right where that is, m50 area. My cousin used to live right across the street from the bowling alley and the bank and my in-laws live right off of Paige not far from there. Yes we do like to off road also. Have you been up to the blessing of the jeeps in Mesick yet. It's a good time. Usually the weekend before Mother's Day in May. Lots of vendors and off road courses to run and not to mention a ton of trails through the national Forrest. We have been to Bundy a bunch of times too, well i have, my wife (Julie) has only went once, but she enjoyed it and didn't want to leave. That's funny about silver lake because my wife didn't care for it either. During the week we are usually pretty busy with work and things but the weekends for me anyway are usually the best. Have to meet up sometime soon. Hope your son has good luck wrestling this evening. Talk soon

Wanting to plan a weekend trip up to the jeep blessing in May. Want to do the courses there then hit rocks and valleys in Harrison on the way home. We usually camp for the weekend just outside of Mesick. Would you guys be interested in meeting up for something like that? The blessing is not just a religious event, we are not really religious at all, it's just a good time for the day running some courses and seeing other rigs people have built. They have a parade toward the end of the day through some trails and stuff. I have never been to rocks and valleys and would like to hit it this year. Let me know if you or anyone else may be interested and we can make some plans.

This sounds great Kevin. We have never been to R&V either although we wheel around Harrison a lot. Wanted to go there with the Jeep Creep crowd but my son had a football playoff party for Selection Sunday so we had to leave Sunday morning. The Blessing sounds cool to. I love checking out other Jeepers rigs. Also nice to see what vendors have to offer in person instead of a web pic. We should probably start making plans as campgrounds will fill up fast.

Hello Downforce welcome to our little group. My name is Bruce. I haven't been to Silver Lake in about 10yrs and never in a Jeep. We used to go when I had a dune buggy and quads. I liked it but wife didn't so you see how that turned out lol. We did go to Bundy half a dozen times this year, I love climbing Peastone Hill and Great Lakes Gultch.

We should all get together sometime soon. I know people are busy with the holidays here but Amy and I are off work from 12/24-1/2. We have a couple wrestling meets sprinkled in there but otherwise pretty flexible. We have two children, our daughter is a sophomore at KVCC and lives in Kzoo. Our son is 18 and a Senior in HS so he pretty much does his own thing. We can meet at a restaurant and/or we would like to invite you guys (and gals) to our place to play cards (poker/euchre). As I said with the exception of Christmas Eve/Day we are pretty flexible.

Let's see some pics of your rigs! I'll start, this is my '98.

Nice Jeeps guys. Yeah Kevin I was pretty busy last winter. I like wrenching on Jeeps almost as much as driving them. It makes a big difference if you don't have to lay out in the snow with hands so cold they can't grip the ratchet. Been there done that, not fun. I have some upgrades planned this winter but not as much. With Bruce (my son's name as well) graduating and us going to Jamaica next summer Amy has limited my Jeep fund.
A quick check of their website and I see Bundy is open every weekend. Last year it was once a month. I don't drive my Jeep in the winter so I don't keep insurance on it but I do have a car hauler. I would trailer it down as long as it wasn't slushy out.
If you get time check out Bruce's thread. That was a total rebuild and a lot of fun.
I know I'm kinda long winded lol. You guys are lucky though I have to head to Ionia for the day to work. Talk to ya later.

Welcome for sure! And don't worry Kevin, we have a large card table lol.
Depending on the time I'm not sure we can make it tomorrow. We have a wrestling tournament. They are usually done by 4pm. I will check back and see what you guys come up with.
Worked on my first JK today. Installed a towbar base plate and supplemental brake system on a '14 unlimited sport. Holy crow those things are packed under the hood. I could barely get my hands to the firewall to run the brake cables, modern technology lol.
