I live in Bay City and I struggle with the same issue! Without driving a ton I just utilize out at my dads which has some woods along with farm fields (not recommended due to crops in the field) other then that I have no clue! Haha but I am always looking!

Tough finding mud without more rain

There is another thread in the Michigan forum, about places around Midland... I know the one area off Burns Road in Sanford, that leads back to the Turtle Ponds... might be wet there...

Trail riding in midland county anyone?
