North East Michigan Labour Day Weekend

We have a place in NE Michigan, the Sunrise side.
We and the Jeep will be up there this Labour Day weekend
Aug 30 thru Sept 1, looking for new trails to explore.

We have already been to the Devils Lake loop and are looking at Old State House to try next. These are Routs and require no DNR ORV sticker.

We are very flexable on time and are looking to see if any otheres would like to join us in our explorations.

Old State House is located on the north side of the Ausable River , just West of Oscoda.

Just a word of caution - if you venture as far over as Atlanta, they are logging a couple of sections north of CR628, and it was not very well marked. The trucks were using the ORV route to bring the logs out south to the county road. There is nothing worse than coming around a corner on an 8' wide trail with an 8' wide truck coming at you! DNR was supposed to instruct the loggers to mark the area better, but be on your toes.

Thanks for the heads up.
Was not thinking of going up there, but may go see if we can find some Elk.
Atlanta Route much longer than Old State House , so may make a day of it.

Still open to any one interested in joining in , just post here.
