The Mounds in Mid-MI

I've never been to the Mounds (yet...) and plan to hit it this weekend (Memorial Weekend...) for a family filled afternoon of wheelin' and BBQ

I've been doing some research into what it is? Where it is? and figured I'd share what I've found. So here ya' go! Its a thread for the Mounds! If you have a video, photo or experience to share please do so.

Im lookin' at the "Non-Resident Daily Pass - $11.00 per vehicle" + $16.25 for my ORV Sticker (Good for one year via Michigan DNR)

This is their website;
The Mounds

Sweet... Im thinking Saturday will be pretty busy out there, but it will a fun time for the kids to see more trucks/jeeps/etc... I saw some crazy videos that game me the idea to steer clear of the big pits, check it out...

It is a fun place to check out from time to time, as much for driving around as for the ability to stand around and BS while others try mud holes that are too big for them. Every weekend? No, not worth that. But a couple times per year is fun enough.

I was there a couple of weeks ago when they opened back up and it was a total mud pit everywhere from all the rain the few days before. Watch some of the water/mud holes because some of them area deep.

OMG you guys, of course with my jeep being white and all the others there totally covered, I went for one of the mud holes first! Dropped the front end in, water came up over the hood but I was commited and hammered on it. Came up the other side, totally throwin' mud and never stopped! It was a blast! The first hole got us good and muddy... My wife freaked out and thought we were going to be stuck as soon as the front end dropped off the edge under the water. Adreneline like crazy, hands just shakin' afterword, Im hooked!!! It was awesome!!! We spent a few hours, navigating tight corners, over a couple dead trees, lots of two tracking around deep rutted areas.

I did'nt get pictures of the trails in the woods, some skinny routes through sand hills, mud pits in the grassy areas or the rock trail. (hilly track made of boulders) etc... All in all, it was a great time! I need some skid plates, I want to tackle the rock trail! (Not big enough for the rock obsticle)

Is there much of anything else there besides the mud pits and the rock crawl?

spectating, and there are some trails. If you are coming from a long ways I would say its not worth driving 2+ hours for.

hard to say how much to do there... I was there for about 4 hours and covered a little less than half of the trails. You can also BBQ out in the parking lot then go back in.
