Trail Maps for Michigan Im Confused

I have posted two links to sites that have trail maps. The first one is to Michigan Interactive it has more trails listed than the DNR. The other is the Michigan DNR. They both list trails for Under 50"width and all other (JK width is 74"). My problem is they both have most of the same trails but show different widths on some of them. My question is does the Mi DNR have a hardcopy of the trails other than printing them off the site? I would be willing to purchase the map book if there is one. I don't want to get caught in someplace I shouldn't be. Also are there any GPS systems that would help? My Knight Rider GPS I know won't cut it.

The first link you listed is NOT the DNR, they should not be used as an authoritative source. Your second link is the real McCoy. There are no books of the trails published by the state - you can download the PDF files from the website and/or the GPX files - not sure if they are all GPS'd, but most are. And those that are are accurate and relatively current.

Part of your confusion is the way the DNR presents the maps - Solid red lines and dashed red lines overlapping is hard to read. But in general, the dashed double red line is ORV Route open to any size vehicle, solid red is ATV, and cycle trails look like beads on a piece of string.
