uh oh, a newbie

hey felt like i'd say hi to all my fellow wranglers in michigan, and give a little intro and back info on me and my Yj

bought my '94 wrangler off a buddy who owns a used car lot in dearborn, he gives me the auction price, so i paid $3800 for it, and it only had 78k miles!

well a year later and some work put in i'm not up to 84k and it's still running great (this is my first wrangler)

few things i had to do being that it's old:
titanium sparks
K&N air filter
fuel filter
3 stage engine clean (thanks to the local oil shop)

it's a 2.8l 4cyl )':

so sometimes getting on the highway is annoying having to down shift to 3rd (once you go manual you don't go back)

but i'm trying to figure out if i should look into selling/trading for a straight 6 4.0l, or invest money in trying to get better performance

current projects:
bought the car with NO audio, where the factory blown dash 2X5 speakers are i've mounted some MB quart tweeters on top of them ( cut out the metal speaker grill, jb weld some abs plastic over with the tweter mounted in it. still need to make it look custom/factory, haven't cleaned it up yet

ebaying for a 4 speaker soundbar to mount some MTX 6" components and tweeters

eventually getting a centra pod for my 6" mb quart components

thinking about building a box for the "trunk" to hold 2 12" 's

there are a few other things here and there but i think this post is long enough and i'll probably goto the YJ forum to ask for help on them

questions and comments will make my day

not a highway ride

Welcome! I just got my first jeep too. I found right away that the 2.5 sucks on the highway (bought in Detroit and drove to Grand Rapids). I have come to the realization that the jeep is right and the highway is wrong. I have since built it into something even worse on the highway and love it even more.
