moosehead lake, dirt roads?

I'm going up to Moosehead lake, maine in the begining of August. Will be staying in a cabin on the lake. Are there dirt road or places to go in the area to see some of the animal life that won't be to radical? Wife gets a little shaky off road but loves dirt roads. Worries about getting stuck. any suggestions? This will be our first time in this area of Maine. Love the coast.

Go up t 7 to Rockwood and turn right after the general store and cross the Moose River. Go right at the tee and that will take you out toward Pittston Farm and North East Carry. Great wild life viewing up that way. Any dirt road up there and you'll see lots of wildlife. Better at night tho. Be careful...you can't see moose at night. Their eyes don't glow like a deers do. have fun.

I live right outside Farmington, Spent last Friday through Monday up in Eustis myself.

As for moosehead area. Its a big lake and only know the rockwood area stayed at Tomhegan camps last fall for a week, beautiful, reasonable would recomend to any one looking for a real quite camp on the lake and man you cant throw a stick around rockwood with out finding a nice dirt road to explore.
