Have to hook up sometime and go to Coy Hill. Been there 3 times so far. Just the road, no off shoots. Really want to venture out there more but not while alone.

I thought there was a big hue and cry from the Towns to close off the Coy Hill area and keep everyone out?

There was and is on the private and conservation land. If you do a search you'll find the newest article is dated around 2007.

Yeah, I read that one, that's what I was referring to. I figured by now there would be a 10' hight electric fence around the area!

I just wheeled coy the other day, trying out my jeep in some deep snow. No electric fences yet!

I like venturing over there every once in a while. The trail changes all the time.

How deep was the section where the pond overflows onto the road?

Well I went the week after the last big snow storm and everything was really frozen so it was solid I e I drove right over it. Lol. Usually the deeper it gets the more jeeps it deters! Haha. I remember last year year me and mile went through there he went around and I drove straight through and it was up to my rockers and I had a soa with a 3" on top of that.

Last time I was up there was last fall. I had my then stock 2012 JKU and the water was mid doors. I've since boosted it up with a 2.5 lift so it should be even more fun this year.

Well then. Now that I got the lift in it is time to give her a run. Might have to meet up sometime up there and test her out.

Doing great. I traded in the JK for a JKU and just recently put in a 2.5 coil lift kit and a few other things. Looking forward to plenty of trail rides this year.
I think you will have to meet us up at Janine's Frosty this year and take Coy Hill with us.

EPO stopped us from driving on north Rd .(near Coy hill) said we were OHV's and if we stift into 4WD we will need a helmet. gave me the OHV handbook ,bunch of crap, but we turned around and went elsewhere.
Note: said he did not care about OHV sticker. I did not have one anyways.
But that's part of that new OHV law. Why do I need a helmet I said when I'm in a closed top Jeep? That's the law.$250 fine if you don't have a helmet. Why wouldnt he just let us go and then bust us?

Hey Rich,

Here is a link to Chapter 202 Acts of 2010
http://www.malegislature.gov/Laws/SessionLaws/Acts/2010/Chapter202

that made all the changes to
C/90B http://www.malegislature.gov/laws/generallaws/parti/titlexiv/chapter90b

and 323/CMR/3.0
http://www.mass.gov/eea/grants-and-tech-assistance/enforcement/environmental-police/boat-and-recreation-vehicle-safety-bureau/323cmr30.pdf

that's mentioned in that brochure. It's actually not a new law; it went into effect Oct 2011. I guess it's taken a year for them to fatten up their coffers to start spending money out of it.

If you read the first section of C202/Acts of 2010 and you'll see that all money collected from associated fines/fees/forfiture associated with all RV's in the state of MA now goes directly into a fund to be used "mainly" for EPO enforcement of the new R&R's. Basically they have written themselves a law that gives them an unlimited supply of overtime money. There's also a clause in there that is "supposed" to divert money from this fund for the purpose of land acquisition for new trails and trail maintenance, but I guarantee you will NEVER see money spent on that. (Future lawsuit! I hope so!)

I also love the fact that now they want OHV/RV's (legally registered and insured for use on a public way) to ADDITIONALLY register as an OHV/RV whenever it's used off-road. Another $40 every 2 years on top of your regular registration fees!
I HATE THIS F**KING STATE

Yeah I knew about the law but still don't think it should include us Jeeps.
Why do I have to wear a helmet in my closed top Jeep with doors on and we have roll cages and seatbelts. His point was to mess with us and hope we don't come back. If I did get a fine I would fight it!
