Can older jeep dash be switched out for newer?

Im a soon to be jeep owner for the first time, Im looking for a 97 and newer jeep for the interior and the suspension. If i have to settle for an older jeep liek a 95 can i convert the interior from a newer model like the 97?

I think it would be more costly to do that, then to get a newer Jeep. Technically, I guess it's possible, but it may be more trouble then it's worth.

Go really old and get the full metal dash of an early CJ. Those are old skool cool.

I'd agree with G-Pur. Anything's possible, but sounds like a really big job for not much reward. Lots of cutting and welding, shaping and filling, plus all the electrical stuff.

And then you've got a TJ dash in a YJ. Still got a YJ front end (square headlights) still got a YJ suspension. YJs are cool rigs. If you get one, embrace its funkiness!

Or hold out for the TJ you want. It aint' the dash that makes you want a TJ.
