Gauges and engine shut down while driving!

Hey all - I've had a few major issues while driving. I'm driving down the highway (hot and dry) and out of know where, the engine cuts out. I turn the key off and start it up again.....it's fine for a bit. Sometimes the gauges go flat but the engine keeps going.

I brought it in and got the crack temp sensor changed out (because that's the code that came up), but on a long trip this past weekend, the same thing happened....the shut-offs seemed to become more frequent so I had to park it and seek other means of transportation. Picked it up on the way home and drove 2 hours before it started happening again.

Any thoughts?

What model Jeep? Try posting in YJ/TJ/JK.

This used to happen to me on my 3000GT when it would rain hard. Does wet/dry matter?
