West Springfield Bertera?

When I first started looking at wranglers I went to the lot on a Sunday morning and 3 brand new JKU rubis had smashed windows and missing headrests

haha never been a fan of their customer service. Maybe because I'm young and look 12 they never took me serious when I went to look at wranglers.

Bertera (West Springfield) tried to screw me on my trade in a month ago toward a factory order 2dr JK. I wanted $12k for my trade, Blue book was about $13k-13,500, I think $12k was more than fair. They offer me $10,500 right out of the gate and won't budge a dime. I ask them how much to add Mopar side steps (the plastic running board type) after I get my factory order delivered and the sales guy tells me "$650 installed".... I tell them I'll go to a different Jeep dealer and get a better trade and they tell me "well you won't get a better deal on the new jeep, they'll give you a lesser discount to recoup the trade allowance".... Since all the Jeep dealers around Springfield are owned by Bertera (the one in Westfield, and Metro in Chicopee - formerly in Springfield) I call up Dan's Jeeps in Westboro, MA.... its a family owned Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler dealer out past Worcester that had the exact Jeep i wanted. They said it was available... So I bring my trade to Carmax in Hartford to get an appraisal, they appraise for $12,000.... I fax that to Dan's Jeeps and ask if they will match it. They tell me without seeing it, they can do $11,000-11,500. I ask Bertera 1 more time if they can do a little better on the trade and they say no. I call Dan's Jeeps again and tell them if they do $12,000 on my trade and Match the discounted price on the 2013 JK that Bertera quoted me, I'd drive right out there... They matched both! They were awesome and super nice and when I asked about the side steps they tell me "$360 installed"! haha... I will never buy a vehicle from Bertera.

sorry for the rant!

That's pretty ridiculous! I bought out east in MA also. I went to Central jeep in Raynham. Bought my 09 used from them (couldn't afford new at the time) and given this was my first car buying experience it was a pretty good one.

Don't mean to jack this thread, but I assume you are all in western MA. Where are some good trails or meet ups? I haven't been off road much at all since I bought my JKU and am itching to test it before modding.
