There's a trail that's in shrewsbury MA and it's decent for being in middlesex county. The issue I'm having is does anyone know if this trail is legal as I found no "no trespassing" signs on either end. Those familiar with the area and trail please chime in. I would assume the shrewsbury section under the power lines would be considered "nt" but besides that it seems like it would be legal out there.

So many views but no responses leads me to believe no one knows much about this little chunk of area

I didn't even know there was trail back there! I'm assuming but where does it end? I'm definitely going to check it out. The way I look at it is this.... If there's no " No Trespassing" signs or gates, then I'm going to go ahead an tread lightly. If I see anyone, ( land owners, Nat. Grid, etc.) lll stop and discuss trail use. If its a problem w/ them, I'll politely apologize and move on my way.

Very interesting. looks like powerline service roads, I'll have to check it out next time I'm over there. I've been to a dozen times but never down that "new" road they put in...

New England Power Co owns the first ~30 feet of it
Town of Shrewsbury owns the next ~1500 ft of it
" + theTitle + "
"Rushwan brothers inc" a trading corp with an address listed in Worcester owns the rest, all the way down to the train tracks / Rt 30. Looks like the majority of the "fun" parts are on their land, which is zoned Industrial development, best I can tell from a few online GIS resources. I'd be careful and follow any signage present.

Thanks for the update and as far as signage goes there are only "do not climb power lines" and a mbta "no trespassing" sign for the actual tracks.

We rode the trail today - it was a blast! Good size for this area, took us about 30-40 mins end to end. Some large puddles at one end, no river crossings, one semi-steep rocky hill, overall mostly a dirt trail with its share of rocks. We had fun, definitely recommend checking it out. Thanks for the initial heads-up on the trail gorilla

there might be there seemed to be a lot of "party areas" out there with left over 30 rack boxes ect. I definitely wouldn't be leaving my vehicle out there unattended and have been very careful.

That's near the old drive inn property off of . Better off going to Upton. Nobody say's a thing at Tufts. Not the largest area but still fun to hangout. Huge mud puddle or small pond that everyone goes through.

I'm a new jeeper in the area. Just bought a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Sport in August. I just upgraded to mud terrain tires yesterday so I really want to get into some light easy off roading since I've never done it. I've been trying to get information about this trail and you just basically answered all of my questions so thank you! I'm nervous about rocks do you think an inexperienced jeeper could handle this trail without getting stuck?

I am not sure the legality of the location...private owed/state/etc. I will say until all of this snow melts no chance getting in there in a stock rig. I have been there several times now with a local club. It is fun, for a few hours, not too challenging and I have seen a stock jk do about 80% of it. For the 50 bucks join a club so you know where you can and can't be. Send me a pm if you want some options.

Hey everyone, I cleaned up this thread a bit. Please don't post locations on here. You can PM for more details but keep in mind this is a public forum and even people who don't tread lightly can see it.

That being said I grew up in Westboro, not too far from there. We used to call that "the pits" and yeah it's a party spot. There are often Bon fires out there on Friday or Saturday afternoons. It is technically private land and there are lots of stories about cars that are left there getting beat to S**t or torched but that could also be kids "partying" and destroying a stuck car or just scary stories that I perpetuate to keep some people from going to my spot haha. Be careful by the tracks. The cops WILL get upset if you're near them since technically that's a potential terrorism threat with all of the people that could be affected if you had a bomb or whatever

I used to go there all the time and never had any troubles there, except for once by the tracks. It's a fun short trail but we want to keep it open so we don't want to spread the word to anyone who won't tread lightly.

Last thing: be careful of nails and glass. I've popped 2 tires back there. Now whenever I go I bring a trash bag and make it a point to fill the entire bag with garbage(glass, nails, cans etc) to clean it up in hopes that the land won't be closed

PM me if anyone ever needs a tow. Don't want any WF jeeps getting burned
