southern MA/N RI stereo installers?

Hi Folks,

I'm on the border of RI/MA (Woonsocket) and was looking for a decent stereo installer in my area for my 2012. I see there are a few places around but I was hoping you all would have some experience, good or bad, with the local shops. I'm OK with either buying the equipment myself and having a place install, or buying and installing at the same place.

Anyone have some advice?

Thanks in advance,
Dirk

I'm sure there is a stereo installer in Woonsocket on every corner. I had a system done at Tweeter years ago but I think they are gone now. Search around Yelp etc. to find reviewers.

Are you sure you want to pay someone to do it? I did my full stereo with 2 amps just by searching the internet on how-to's.

Most Jeep guys do stereos themselves since they are so easy to do.

They are very easy to do... I suggest just doing a little research and giving it a shot on your own.

You'd think there would be places everywhere but I'm kinda new to this area and wasn't sure who might be good and who is just a hack. Mixed reviews on the few places I've seen around. I'm wary of trusting just anyone with my Jeep and was hoping someone on the forums here had a recommendation.

It might come down to installing it myself, yeah. I've had a buzzing noise that wasn't fixed by changing the speakers in the soundbar and I didn't want to troubleshoot/replace the wiring myself if it wasn't just fixed with a straight head unit swap.

I can give you a hand. I used to own a shop. I can teach you how to install it yourself. Its not that hard. If you have some mechanical skill you can handle it.

Get together a few more 12-volt projects and we can have ourselves a little tech day!

But yeah, we could get a few guys together and I could even show them how to do something else... Lighting?

I spent way too much time, countless hours researching to do this solo. I did full speaker swaps, hid two amps, and an 8 inch sub in the jeep. Yes, there's a sense of satisfaction but if I knew someone trustworthy and if they had a decent fee I would take it all back, I HATE wiring lmao. Plus now things are starting to act up on me, obviously because I didn't do one thing perfectly. Just a nightmare, but if we're gonna do a tech day I am in. Would love a fresh pair of eyes on my wiring because I can't figure out what the issues are.

I'm still down for doing a tech day. Its getting late in the season but if someone has a garage we can still do it. Hopefully by the spring I'll have a new house... WITH a garage... lol

My girl and I have been looking at houses recently. No joke I will not buy unless there's a garage, lol.
