Yeah for right now because lack of funds im gonna use d44s and run 35s with just a 6inch lift I want to get motor and transmission in and rumming good and then maybe next winter continue with my original plan
I live in Norwalk been putting Jeep together for the last 10 years if you need a hand im good for two and a foot I put the finishing touches on my 94 YJ slip yoke eliminator kit then I've got a Tj project put a diesel motor out of a vw in it hopefully.
Is there anyone thats good at wireing I might need your help in the short term future haha..... so anyway my friend and I are going do the welding as soon as we get a warmer day I have to do both bottom rails where the tranny skid bolts up the back right rear piece and the gas tank crossmember the body mounts 3 are shot and the back right upper shock mount. Looks to be a lot of work ahead but once thats done im taking 2 days off and putting this back together its at the point where I need my jeep I miss driveing it! Also ill have to weld the new motor mounts in place for the 5.2L swap
Let me know how the frame welding goes. I need to do the same on my tj. The center section skid let go on the driver side. The weld nuts pulled right through. Take some pics. I need to find money and someone to weld mine up. What's your ideas on fixing it?
Also the frame welding I ordered the replacement pieces because figure if u bring it to a welder its 95 $ per hour for him to fabricate somthing plus the time to put it in and it could take 2 -3 for him to make something right so the 104$ part turned into 285 plus labor to cut and weld it in. If you can get your jeep down to my house we can weld it at my house im not a welder but my friend is out of work and could use the cash hes was a welder for 10 years. But not for a few weeks until my mess of a jeep is out of the way just the lack of room
That sounds good. I'm just gonna end up buying the replacement pieces as well. Seems like the best way. I found the center skid sections for $150 a side. If your buddy is interested in doing the work let me know how much he's looking for. What town are u from
It's will end up being both. Driver side completely let go nuts pulled right through. And I noticed on passenger side that the weld nuts on 2 of the 3 bolts are just spinning on the center hole is still solid. So on driver side I drilled straight through frame and ran pipe and bolts up and on passenger side I did the same to the other two.
35inch toyos on 17s d44 rear d44 front 6inch rough country lift hd rear driveshaft 5.2liter fuel injected mopar bedline-ing. Floors and underneath. Havnt picked up a trans yet but planning on automatic it will simplify the swap for sure a late model dodge truck trans with a dana 300 trans and the flip kit from advanced adapters. ~~~~~~~ All said and done = : -D (happiest jeep owner in westport) lol
I am a noob who can usually figure my way around tools. These days I am working on putting in a suspension and body lift on my jeep (It is my first jeep) and am hoping to be done in the next 2-3 weeks depending on how much time I get to work on it.
I would love to help you with your project and learn a few things along the way. Let me know if you need a hand. You are about an hour drive from me.
I bought the ultimate TJ lift kit from DPG Offroad. Should be done with the body lift tonight. started it over the weekend but broke a body mount bolt, finally got that out couple of days ago and now the freaking first body mount wont align. Lets see how it goes tonight.
