I am so glad we all could get together yesterday. It sucks to think a fellow jeeper stole your balls but I guess one bad apple is all it takes. I had a blast and can't wait to get together next month. I guess I will be sending minutes from earlier this month out soon, so if you haven't attended a meeting with us P.M. me your email if you wish to recieve normal minutes and invites.

Hey folks.....need all of my ECOJOC friends and CT Jeepers assistance with something. The Topless Day trail ride yesterday was a complete gas....and I now have the bug even worse than ever. The reality is, that my '12 JK will most likely never see trail duty (I know...never is a long time...we shall see)....but will hopefully be a great daily driver for many years to come. SO...that being said...I need to get me a Jeep for trailing. What do you all recommend:
1) TJ or YJ, and why?
2) What axles?
3) What gears?
4) What lifts and why?
5) Do the 4 cylinders have the power you need on the trail? (There are a lot of them out there!)
6) Any years or features that should be avoided due to reliability or design issues.

Looking for something that is at least partially built...simply do not have the time to do one myself. Look forward to hearing from you all, with whatever input you care to offer!!! If you know of any decent rigs for sale, please let me know. Thx in advance.

Your wife is gonna love you!!! Lol I think wee need to know how hard you are honing to hit the trail. But based on the trail options this weekend I would say at least 33's. Definitely a 6 cylinder, a 4 won't cut it. And possible lockers. If its a trail rig not much else matters.

Oh yeah....already getting the evil eye when I bring it up! Thx for the info and comments...I thought pretty much the same things you mentioned. Is there a notable difference in the performance and handling of leaf springs versus coil springs?

I have another YJ that has been rolled over and has a four cyl. and it will go anywhere, it's locked front and rear, it Will climb a tree, it has 4.56 gears and beat 35/10.50/15's boogers. It's really in what u want to do and how much money u want to spend. Some ppl prefer coil, some ppl (like myself) like leaf, but I'm old school. All vehicles have there problems, YJ's rot out behind the rear passenger side shackles, TJ's rot out, again on passenger side at the connection of the link for the rear end, but like anything else, u have to repair them or find one that is in good shape. A six cyl. would b a good choose.

Hey guys I've been out of service and in the field for the military the past few weeks so I dropped the ball on the minutes and did not make topless day due to that. I am however ultra happy to hear such awesome reviews!!!

Symmi - Do you have any more pics? Maybe some of the front of the Jeeps? I wanted to use them as a reference for a possible logo design.

Yes lol I have a bunch I'm pretty sure I have at least a few of just the front. I'll try to upload some tonight. Are you looking for any model in particular?

Okay, so I just went through all my pictures from GTD and I do have some that are just the front but they are all at a slight angle not head-on. Will that work? If not I could take some head-on shots of my YJ and post those and maybe someone else could post some of their TJ for you to use... Let me know what works and I'll get some pictures up.

I was thinking it's time to meet again. Probably Tilted Kilt at 4, unless someone has another idea. I would love to meet somewhere we could BBQ at a park or something now that it's nice.
