Tinted front windows

Anyone have their front windows tinted? I know the laws in CT but realized after I got them done that they matched them to soft top tints which is illegal. I blame myself for not being completely sure of the different numbers. Anyone have any issues with getting stopped?

Hi Danielle:
I left CT to come back to NY but my doors are tinted to match my soft windows. If you are getting pulled over, roll down your windows. The cop can not make you roll them up without a warrant.

Thanks!!! I'm just so frustrated with the service I got. The whole situation is annoying. But on the bright side, my jeep looks awesome!

I got my front doors tinted to match my hard top...20% tint. I did this at least 7 years ago and havent had one issue to date. Even when being pulled over I havent had an issue. (knock on wood)

Just always roll down you window whenever being approached by a police officer. Not to hide it as they most definately already saw them but so the police can see you as they approach the vehicle.

Tint tickets in IMO really just depend on how you treat the officer. And if they feel like the tinted windows are putting them in any danger.

I have had tinted windows for the last 15 years on all sorts of cars. Most of them sport cars. I have been stopped before but have always been polite and rolled down my window before being approached. And I have never been questioned about them. And I drive in and out of NYC 5 days a week.

YMMV but that has been my experience.

I once had a brand new bright white 01 Chevy pickup and I had a place on the turnpike do the windows. I thnk the guy is no longer there but he was in a blue building by the corner by the laundromat, gas station, and a field by a used car dealer. Those were the best tints I've ever seen.

Nope not the same place! Haha.

I had read some really good reviews about the place I went... So disappointing. Oh well. We move on! Waiting for that spring weather so I can take the doors off, won't even need to worry about the tints! Lol

Thanks Brother but I'm still in NY. About twenty minutes west of Danbury right of 84 and the Taconic. Maybe we could organize a NYCT Wrangler meet and greet. I can contact the Danbury mall about using a corner of their lot or hell we just run up in there and take their parking lot by storm lol, or maybe Marcus dairy?
