I am new to this JEEP lifestyle, but as I try to do with my motorcycling friends a thumbs up is appropriate!

I will wave at any and all Wrangler friends. I find myself almost doing it when I'm not in my Wrangler.

Hey everyone, first time in this thread, and yea it has only gotten worse over the years.

I'm about to pick up my '13 from the dealer by the end of the week. I just sold my TJ on saturday and before that I had a '94.

I got the '94 when I was 16...and I am 28 now.

So I've had a wrangler since I got my license and over the years(especially since the JK's came out) I've noticed that the wave has slowly disappeared.

I didnt realize that everyone else didnt wave to JK's though....I though JK's just didnt wave to everyone else lol.

Oh it is also funny that from about a mile away I can tell if a jeep is going to wave to me...

I'll be waving to everyone though

Every single CJ, YJ, and TJ that I see here in Texas has waved at me if they saw me in time. Every JK I see never waves at me, almost EVER. Gosh it's annoying seeing so many Jeeps but all of them are JK's and don't wave - half of those are driven by soccer mom's too......

This is so true, I have a mustang that I rotate driving between the jeep and it.
Then I drive a van for work, and in both I've caught myself waving to jeeps.

They probably think I'm nuts or that I think I know them lol.....but more likely they didnt even notice anyways

Usually try and wave at every wrangler I pass. Sometimes miss one if I'm not paying attention (or the wife's yappin). Can pretty much count on getting a wave / wave back from just about every CJ/TJ. Don't know about the rest of the state, but down here in Fairfield about 1/2 the JK's are driven by soccer moms. So can pretty much tell by looking at a JK driver if I'm gonna get a wave back. Still wave at 'em though

Ya wtf why are these JK's so popular to the mall crawlers and soccer moms?

It's a jeep thing right but I don't get it?

Guinness the most important thing to know it no matter how big or deep the mud puddle is and no matter how far off the edge of the road it may be your jeep wants, needs and must tear it up.

Most JK 4door's I pass are too busy talking on phone to wave. Almost all other Wranglers wave back.

I've noticed the other side of this prejudice. After I did my lift and got 35" tires a lot more people waved back to me.

I just transferred here from Guam a few months ago, and drove my TJ from California to CT. I do the wave and wave back but get double takes from the jeepers who notice the California plates.

Yeah!! Like Buddah said, Welcome. And welcome to CT. We get some good snow once In a while. So the best time to have fun it's a few hours after it starts snowing.

Most idiots are home already and you'll have to roads and parking lots to yourself 😃

Not all CT drivers are snobs. I happen to know a lot of Jeepers and we all wave. As posted earlier in the thread it's the Jeep driving soccer moms and wannabes that are the ones who refuse to wave.

I'll always wave unless I'm spaced out. I bought my 72 CJ5 in 1981 off my brother. He told me about the wave. Been doing ever since I’ve owned a Jeep. I notice that the JKUs are the biggest slackers. No offence to JKU users who do wave! Regarding the hard top....All I had on my CJ5 was a ragtop. My YJ came with a hard top and I bought a ragtop for it within 6 months. Loved it in the summers until the kids were born. Now my oldest is off to college and I treated myself to a new JK....with a hard top. If we get an extended forecast of good weather, I'll try to get the top off of a day or so.

Today is a great day for CT jeepers to be out if they have the guts and skills.

It's fun.

Have had my JK for about 2 weeks now, and have gotten quite a few waves from other Jeeps 2 door and 4 door, but there have been a fair share of snubs as well. I guess it's just a matter of whether or not people are truly into the way of life or just think of it as transportation.

Not any better on Long Island!! Maybe you can't see out of the windows in a Jk so they can't see us waving?? I don't see one with the windows open too often either even on the most butiful get this top n doors off kinda day!!! I wonder if removable doors n top is an option on a Jk?

took my wife to work at 730, no problems. Went out again at 11am and hit a patch of compacted snow/ice and went for a nice 100 foot or so skid. I was going 20mph at the time so a little nudge from the kerb got me settled again.

I did have an easier go in my driveway than the pick up that was plowing it though! Monday I had some fun in the back of a parking lot though ;-)

oh and as far as waving goes, I wave at every wrangler I see. I'd say 3/4 wave back. The majority of JKs do, it's the older TJ/YJ guys that usually snub me.

The older guys snub me also. I thought it was for other reasons at first. Lol. But I guess that's just how they are. I seem the same Jeepers where I'm from and most of the time when I'm paying attention I wave and they wave back.

So true. My neighbors stared in disbelief as I drove down, and then back up my 950 foot long sloped driveway, without so much as removing one flake of the snow we just got including the big pile at the end that the town trucks deposited. That portion was a nail biter but she made it. Of course I was carrying my 90 pound Lab in the back for added traction weight.
