I'm not even joking when I say I was actually upset leaving my Jeep there. The whole ride to work I was hitting the invisible clutch and must have reached for the gear shift about 8 times. ...I even waved at a Jeep driving by

When can I pick up the trench coat and hat? I don't think I can stand to be seen in a minivan any longer.

Oh no! And worst of all, you went to a place that still has the name Plymouth? That name does not bring back happy memories.

Awesome vid, Proxy. What mount were you using for the initial outside shot? Good luck on the lift! Can't wait to see it.

Ha, bad experience in Plymouth Meeting? And thanks! I was using the suction cup mount for my gopro. Mounted it to the quarter window on the back doors of my JKU. That window was coming out before the mount fell off. It was on their tight.

Feels awesome. Have to get the tires road force balanced and put in rear breaks in the morning. But she feels great... under 40 mph, ha.

Looks like I it a snag. I NEED to get these things balanced before I go anywhere big. I'm at a shop in Blackwood getting them done now but it looks like its going to take about an hour

My number is 717-676-0342. Hit me up when you guys get there and I'll update you. But don't wait around too long for me. No sense in burning daylight!

My wheels had trouble balancing as well. Has anyone ever tried "balancing beads?" Thousands of metal pellets that sit inside the tire and "auto balances" as you drive?

Sorry I missed you guys! The place I got my tires couldn't balance them because they were so big. They were putting so much weight on the rim and it still wasn't balancing so I had to get them road force balanced. I'm not kidding you when I say I called 26 places before I found someone that could road force balance 35s. Pain in my ass. By the time I found the place, got there and got it done, I was still a half hour away from the station. Definitely want to make it out next time!

I know tire balancing. I don't know road force balancing. When is it needed?

When the tires are too big and weights alone won't balance them. The first shop was putting upwards of 7 grams trying to get them to balance, but they were stacking so many weights there was a higher risk of them coming off. Road force balancing conditions the tire itself to balance it.

Yea, one shop told me about them. They're a good idea, but you have to be careful, if the beads are small enough they might mess with the pressure sensors in the tire.

Man that's one sweet looking Jeep now. I like the black Mickey T's, goes great with the Dozer. Also noticed u got unpainted fenders on there too. I'm a fan of the unpainted myself (not just cause I have em, I think they're more practical in a wrangler).

How's the ride now that they're balanced? Curious how the MPG's change. Although u might not see a good number until your recalibrated.

TJ for the win. We don't have all that technology haha

Thanks! I like the Sahara name and the stuff that came with it, but hated the painted fenders. I think the black and dozer contrast make the color pop more. With the painted fenders it just looked like too much. They're actually plasti-dipped and it's held up amazingly well. Every now and again there's a part that peals away but you just touch it up with a quick shot and it's good.

It rides great. The teraflex suspension difference is night and day compared to the stock suspension. Cushions more and bumps are less harsh. It does roll a little more around turns but that comes with any lift. Tires are phenomenal. Look great and road noise isn't that bad at all. Driving to work in the rain today, I took a corner that I've slipped on before a little fast (on purpose) and the tires stuck to the road. Didn't slip at all. Very happy with the set up. Procal'd it the same day so everything's right. Not as much of a priority when you have a manual trans but I like accuracy. I can't really use 6th gear any more but that's because I only have the 3.21 gears. Still plenty of power and 1st gear is a little more useful. on the highway at 65 in 5th gear it was registering about 16 mpg. I think that might get better if I gear up to 3.73 or 4.10.

Lucky you! I think the TPSs are a pain in the ass really, ha. Just another light and alarm that can fail and annoy you. Plus, I think it's pretty obvious when you get a flat, ha.

So does that mean that something is applied to the tire itself instead of to the wheel? Pardon the ignorance.

Road force balancing is basically more accurate at figuring out where the imbalance is. It runs the tire against a tread and measures the imperfections that way, as well as spinning it up to speed. Weights are still put on the rims, just more accurately and it can also detect imperfections in the rim itself so the tire can be adjusted on the rim to balance it better.

Rausch Creek Memorial Day Weekend

Here is the information I got from Rausch Creek reps last Saturday while at OK4WD. Memorial day will be busy because they are hosting a RC competition. That only takes one of their properties (there are four). We can watch the races and then hit the other properties for riding. Rausch Creek you have to pay for membership and daily entrance fee. So per Jeep (and driver) is $50 for the first day and $35 for the second day. Passengers are $15 first day and $7 second day. I think that we will all be doing Rausch Creek at some point, so lets break those piggy banks (I will be breaking mine) and enjoy this weekend together. Camping is onsite and free. With the race going on we can see some cool rigs. What do you say?
The other option: Wharton...It is free and I am up for it. But we need to do some trails we have not done before. I do not know Wharton, maybe a couple of us can come up with a trail map and mark them for that weekend.
In conclusion, Rausch is my first option. I do not care where we go. I just want to ride all day, camp, and go on the next day with a bunch of cool guys like you. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

You can still go to Rausch on the weekend of an RC competition. We were up there this past weekend for the RCROCS crawl. Just make sure you call ahead and talk to Lynn. There is a fire ban up there right now so you can't have any camp fires. We ran mostly blues and a few blacks, the trails were fun!

rausch Creek Memorial Day Weekend

Hey guys what about if we do this instead of Memorial Day Weekend? Is in July and looks like fun. Memorial Day Weekend we can plan an overnight camping at Wharton. What do you think?

WF Ride at Rausch Creek 2! East Coast Meet up!

That sounds fine by me. I'm definitely in for the RC run. I may or may not be able to make Memorial day weekend. Family might be doing something.
