It has to be made available to view on mobile devices. Sometimes due to certain copyright restrictions they don't allow you to view on a mobile device.

How'd you guys get flats? Shred the sidewalls on something sharp or did u pick something up in a hole? I've heard of people booby trapping the water pits before there. Can someone from the ride pm me the street or GPS coordinates of the sand dunes you went to or text me at nineoh8 six72 two4oh8 I missed out on them yet again had to leave because my passengers got tired of waiting around and had to get back home for a prior engagement.

Did you ever get a chance to upload the video of my gold Jeep stuck in the sand pit?

yeah, i'll have my friend riding shotgun with a high end DSLR camera, so he'll be snapping pics the whole time. I can get straps and stuff, my problem is that, having a 4 door rubicon, if i get stuck, it's quit hard for older Jeeps to pull me out because mine is so much heavier. so unless there's someone out with us who has a winch, I wont be hitting anything big. Supposed to be gorgeous that day, my weather app says 82 now!

It's because I'm using a My Chemical Romance song. If I don't want the vid taken down I have to acknowledge third party content. By doing that the copyright holders can restrict the availability of the video. Kinda funny, it's not available on Mobile or in Germany, ha.

My sidewall took a blow. Nice chunk missing out of it. But I think I blew the bead. Either way the tire's shot. Just an excuse to by the duratracs I've been eyeing up!

I'd guess they would be. Easy fix, I believe they just screw into the ports and you can get to them pretty easily. You should try taking it to the car wash and power washing your engine a bit. Sometimes the mud and left over stuff can trip some circuits.

I got two 3" stainless steel screws in my tire. Looks like a booby trap to me.

Got it patched today. $37.00 no big deal. Glad I had a spare. Other than that it was a great time.

I did also, but only 1 I think. Tire pressure has been good. Been checking it ever since. That's f'ed up that people would do that.

Newb question here, but what's with the booby trapping with screws?

Rogue environmentalists? Pissed off park rangers?

But seriously, who's got the beef? (Besides Wendy's)

It's from the environmentalists that don't want jeepers there. They throw a board with screws drilled thru it into the puddles. Can you guys post pics of the screws?

Wow that's really messed up. I had heard about things like this happening but always assumed it was in spots where people were blazing their own trails, not on a main trail... I hope they also realize they can get Forrest fire trucks and park rangers stuck with flats by doing that...After all that is why there are trails back there. Where did you pick it up? Environmentalists 1, Jeepers 0... Definitely don't wanna run thru there again.

Anyone looking for new tires I'd recommend Nittos. I've been running them for about 4 months now.

I have the trail grapplers and they are amazing on the road and off. Nice little faint hum on the highway but otherwise pretty quiet. Just took the doors off yesterday and still couldn't hear them too much at 50mph.

Okay, you may have just cost me some money with that last post. Someone else (a non jeeper with a Tacoma) suggested those same exact tires (nitto terra grappler) and I've been on the fence. I like the look but wondered about the on-road noise and off road performance. More concerned about noise/vibro then off reading cause mine I'd a DD. NItto's site has a nice breakdown of their different lines.

Mind if I ask how much u spent?

Mmmdirt... Terra grapplers and trail grapplers are slightly different. The Terra's are a lot less rugged. I my jk were my dd is be fine with the trail grapplers they're great on road and off... Part of the reason I got them is because of their handling characteristics. Before the upgrade I was getting 21mpg and after it has dropped to about 17.5 and that's highway and city avg.

I'm assuming your at stock height? You can fit 33's on a jk but you'll have to get new wheels with appropriate back spacing and do some trimming up front otherwise you'll get rubbing at full turn and you'll be ripping off your fenders if you wheel it.

I got an aev 2.5 " lift, rugged ridge 17's and the nitto trail grapplers, aev procal, control arm drop downs all professionally installed for just shy of about 5k at Ok4wd. They came highly recommended and will be getting my future business for anything else too big I can't handle at home.

The tires alone were about 260 a piece I think and the wheels were 209 each. Multiply ten both by 5 and that was the bulk of my spend for the upgrade lol. I might be wrong but I got the 295/70r17s. They come out to 33.5" and about 11.5 wide.

I attached some photos for you.. one is right next to a stock '12 jk so you can see the difference. actually my dads jeep.Couldn't be happier with the look... But be warned, once you start, you can't stop.

If anyone has rubi take offs let me know! My dad is looking around for some!

(Officially my longest post ever btw)

@kpickens, looks like I read what I wanted not what was there! Thanks for the clarification. I did remember seeing both tires (amongst the others) on Nitto's site and thinking if prefer the terra over the trail, but based on your info, may continue to investigate. Awesome pics too! Big help

@duhboy, 36" dune grapplers sounds like you can shred up some serious shiz with those. I'd love to see a nice pic. Those would probably be a little rough for mine as a DD. I do around 100 mi/day.

Overnight Run

Guys,
For Memorial Day Weekend (My birthday) I would like to do an overnight trail run. Somewhere we could ride all day, camp overnight and continue next day. Being a newb, I have no idea where we can do something like this. This is an open invitation of course. I am bringing my wife and son. It would be cool if this group would join us. Any suggestions?
