Jersey Beaches

I am new to the Jeep community, I live in South Jersey, about 30 minutes from Atlantic City and with summer right around the corner I have a few questions...

Which beaches can you drive on?
I am completely stock and will be stock this summer so I wasn't sure if I would need to be in 4H or 4L?
What should I carry incase I get stuck, etc?

I did read about dropping the tire pressure. I appreciate the help and tips you have since I have no experience with beach driving

North Wildwood is pretty cool especially in a snowstorm. Because of all the bathers during summer, you can only get a fishing permit for oct-march. You need to show you carry the usual: plank, jack, strap, shovel, first aid kit, flashlight. 4high and you should be fine.

Ventnor, Margate, Longport and AC during the Striper Derby in the fall.

Here's a link I found. Not sure how up to date it is.

I don't know what the gearing is in your Sport. I have an 05 Rubicon that has low gearing(4:10 rear ratio and a very low 1st gear) I do fine in the sand in 4hi using 2nd gear.
A word of caution, know what you're doing driving on soft sand, because you have 4wd doesn't mean you can't get stuck.
Check out the NJ Beach Buggy site it'll give you some good pointers for a novice beach guy.

I have 3:21. Yeah I checked out that link. I definitely need to pick up some equipment. Having a buddy or 2 out there would be good too.

Anyone on the beach would probably be a buddy. So far I've never gotten stuck but I have seen complete strangers help out guys in trouble.

Brigantine has several areas that are open to 4x4 year round. Permit is $180 or so, and is good for 2012.
