NJ Dealerships

Just wonder which of you guys have had a good experience with New Jersey Dealerships. More specifically the service department. The dealer I bought my jeep from has a terrible service department, I vowed to never step foot in that place again. So if you've had a positive service experience share it with us so I can get some quality work done on my Jeep. Thanks

Yea I haven't had good service dept experiences...they constantly want to charge me for things I don't need done...I've brought it in twice for a leak and I'm convinced they did nothing...I'm just dealing with the leak...they also told me I need my oil changed every 3000 miles even though the service manual says every 8000...Damn stealership

I would never go the full 8K. Even though the manual says 8K, I'd still do 3K, maybe 5K at most but it really depends on your driving style. Personally, 3K will be what I do

Well if your leaking from your tranny dont worry about it too much jeeps are notorious for shitty trannys and leakage/speapage isnt uncommon dont worry about that too much and always change your oil and check your fluids every 3k

I'll go with what Vader says. I wouldn't go 8k on the motor oil no matter what the book says.
I change every 3k, even though I use Synthetic(Mobil 1).
Take care of your baby and she'll take care of you...

As far as other work is concerned ask around, find a good mechanic, that you can trust(they are out there).

That's right. I'd much rather spend $30-$40 every 3K miles than letting it go and spend $1K-$2K on something serious.

My 12 has a nice tick coming from the driver side head area. It is starting to get real loud, after searching and reading in the JK section, seems like a head replacement. Just trying to feel out some good dealerships. Other than that I'll do the reg maint myself.

I wish this was true if it was the 4L I wouldn't worry about it , they were some loud engines but bulletproof. However this is a common problem on the new pentastar engine.

I had bought my previous one used from SeaView Jeep in Long Branch. I honestly never had any problems with them trying to charge me with maintenance I didn't need.

They even helped me with changing out my tops and everything.

I'm not saying the dealer is perfect, and it has been 5 years since I've been to that place... but, they were pretty decent.
