They only check emissions now. You'll probably make it thru inspection ok but I don't know if the long arm of the law will hassle you or not.

I have tube fenders....normal inspection is fine. The secondary or lift inspection I won't pass(been putting it off a while now). The biggest pain in the ass for me is the rangers. They bust my balls every time they see me on the trails. In nj ALL of your tire must be covered by a flare. Cops on the street don't care tho. I've talked to many about it.

Wow on my phone it only showed the last comment that NC_TJ showed me.

Thanks rayko and srad for the replies as well. I am asking because I have a badly rusted driver side fender and like the look of flat fenders and tube fenders.

I guess to just save me the headache down the road I am going to try and weld a piece of steel on my fender and try to repair it. And then add some Flat Style Fender Flares.

If I can't fix the rusted driver side fender I will just buy some Tube fenders since it will be cheaper. But like you said srad the rangers will be annoying.

Thanks again for the replies

There are no places, that I know of, close by.
There's Stag Hill all the way up on Rt. 17 but I don't think that it's legal. Although a lot of people do go there.
There's Wharton State Forest down off Exit 7 on the NJ TP.
There's Stokes State Forest all the way up on Rt 206N.
There're other places that aren't as well known, like Menetico Ponds down around Millville off Rt 49. (This one's really far).
Keep checking the Jersey Forum here, someone, sooner or later, will be setting up a run.

Only time I've had my balls broke was by a park police officer. A total d bag. I have tubes on front, and nothin on back right now. I think I'm gonna go with xenon flat fenders on the back, they'll pretty much cover the whole tire & not look all that bad

Its not the problem of Tube Fenders. It's just if you have Tire Coverage or not. I'd say best bet is to have over 50% of tire covered. so you'll be able to wheel and have the tires outside of the jeep but still will not have any problems with Most Police
