NJ Vehicle Modification Limits:

Hello everyone. I'm getting ready to get my YJ re-inspected and was wondering what or where can I find the states requirements for modifying your vehicle. Particularly about the length of tire that's allowed to stick out past the flare, I don't have flares on my fenders now at all.

I know that they only check for vehicle emissions now, but I think they can still fail you for all the other stuff too right? I don't want to fail and I don't want to get pulled over and ticketed either so I was just wondering what the law says about vehicle modifications and what's acceptable. Thanks!

Correct, they don't "test" for mod's.
You can get ticketed if the tread sticks out past flares/fender.
Play it safe, put flares on which cover entire tire.Meaning hang a straight line up from the ground touching top and bottom sidewalls, then up past fender flare.
The flare shouLd stick out past the line.
