Unfortunately I work every other weekend... believe I may try to do some gentle exploring on my own... won't do anything aggressive or questionable when solo...

Where did you find trails in that area? I was up at cliff wood lake for the fourth but I couldn't find anything in the immediate area. I drove around for a while but most trails I saw were for atvs

The reason I was asking is I have ventured offroad, but not too crazy cause I was by myself also. I don't have recovery equipment (yet) but I'd go where a stock jk could. I haven't had time to do the stokes thing yet, but want to.

I also went solo and kept it within reason. I really don't want to destroy something that I'm making payments on :-) I have a stock JKU but do have some recovery gear. However the winch is not in this year's budget.

Most of the roads in DWGNRA are fine for stock. Stokes can be iffy. Some water holes can get deep right after a good rain.
In short, don't go anywhere you think you may break or get stuck. I had to pull 2 guys out if the mud near the Roy Tract Bridge. Stock Cherokee

Yeah I'm a bit over cautious when out solo. I was in the area of that bridge but didn't see the stock swallowing hole

If finances allow, next 2 years will see the lift kit, more aggressive tires and winch installed. But I still really don't want to break anything. It's my DD and am making payments on it.

It's my dd as well and also making payments on it. Once you get a little comfortable with her and know what she can handle, stock is pretty damn fun. Mods are in the future for me also. My wife has other plans with my money.
