Hi RottnRudy, do you happen to post on the Daily Record Newspaper. I see a handle similar to yours. Anyways, I post on the Daily Record and like most if not all posts by that person. On another note, i'm trying to find other Jeep Forum people from north jersey and it's a chore. Hopefully we'll cross paths, as I to am inquiring about trails in North Jersey. Thanks.

Welcome Hans. Good luck on your new jeep. I've been told there are some power line trails in sussex county. I'm going to talk to my friend Thursday. He told me about it a few weeks back and used to go up there when he took his modded trail truck up there. Hopefully it's still available, lots of places have put up big boulders to block entrances from what i've seen.

I just spoke to some friends last night. They have jeeps and they went up to stokes state forest in Sussex County (about 32 miles away). They said there are trails that you take and sites along the way where you can camp. These are not extreme trails or anything but are for offroadin' and that's what it's about. I'm going to be planning a trip hopefully soon when my weekends are less busy to do a trail riding camping expedition up there.

I know this is an old post but if you have any buddies or you yourself have a hunting lisence you can apply for a permit to drive the brush roads at ringwood state park..depending on your jeeps capability you could go from ringwood to ramsey through trails..I've only been to the top of the first rise..its ruocky and climbing not muddy...you'll also need a jack fire extinguisher and tow cable as part of the afreement when you go riding.
