Not a huge fan of the pines, all that sand, silt and muck has to go somewhere. I'd rather risk dents and dings on rocks and trees than hydrolock or get all that silt in my joints, wheel bearings etc from driving thru puddles.

I'm moving into a new place on May 1st so May might be tough-- how is April or June? June will be a little warmer and more camper friendly I think

Hey buddy! I was looking forward to see you on Sunday. I am not a big fan of Pine Barrens but it will mark a year since i've gone down there. Last year it was blast. Remember that newbie that was complaining about his kid spilling milk on his jeep's carpet and then he got stuck on a puddle and took like two inches of muddy sandy water? Poor bastard. I heard it took him like two months to get rid of the stench. But he is going BAAACK this year!

I went to RC last June and I kid you not, best time on my Jeep I ever had. Would love to go back with the Sparta group.

I know it's short notice but I'm heading to rausch this Saturday with some buddies. We're gonna camp Saturday night and wheel Sunday if anyone wants to come. We're gonna run mostly blues and since I'm a trail guide for topless for Tatas figure out some trails for me to run then also. Anyone's welcome this weekend!

Certainly. It's nothing special, just a v8 mustang with a few parts thrown at it.... I get my fun out of it between Jeep trips though!

I love Jeeps and so does my wife. I've always wanted a muscle car, but that would mean giving up my Jeep or my wife.
Try to bring the mustang to that HS car show in June. Should be fun.

I used to street race when I was younger. Obviously not legally. Never got any of my cars on a track. That was for my bike. My last fast car was an 04 Subaru STI that I had work done to. When I got rid of it it was pushing 425hp with 350 torque. All those toys are done with for now....

I'd love to have a fast car like that since my jeep really doesn't have to much guts on the road...

For the show I'm planning on taking the mustang, while the wife takes the jeep.... We'll see though.... Mustang needs the stripes re-done first. The harsh winter ripped them up.

Did you ever get that lift installed? Just realized we never got back in touch after you were having house trouble....

I did. All I need is bigger tires. We also finally got the house last December. A lot of grief, but it all worked out.

Missing out on the last outing because of stock tires was all the motivation I needed. New shoes went on today. Time to put them to use.

Love the AEV wheels. What tires and size did you go with?

Hey guys, New Yorker here, I've had my license for just a year, currently own a Liberty but ordered my new Wrangler a few weeks ago. It's due to come in Mayish, and I absolutely want to go off-roading with it. I get such a thrill going on tiny mud bumps at the local park here with my Liberty that I can't imagine what it will be like with the Wrangler in the "real world" of trails. The unfortunate thing is I have absolutely no experience what so ever in my life with off-roading. So, I was hoping you guys are newbie friendly?

Originally I was going to keep the stock Wrangler SRA tires with my Jeep, but am wondering if it's smarter to just get GY Duractracs and sell the Stock ones if I intend to off-road? I'll be getting either 17 x 8.5 MB Black Razor Wheels or black XD Addicts that are 17 x 9. I'm not willing to lift/re-gear but have been thinking about a winch and snorkel(Not just for offroading, they look really cool too.) Are they really worth it to get if you off-road, especially the Snorkel? I don't quite understand the engine hydro-locking, but getting muddy water in it does not sound like fun. Definitley don't want to ruin my Jeep completely in just my trial run at off-roading.

Anyways, I'm done ranting, thanks for any help you can give me and hopefully I'll meet lots of you's on the trails. I'm just a bit worried about learning how to off-road and not ruin my Jeep/money.

Stock tires will do ok for minor stuff. I say just get the tires anyway. Winch for off-roading is a must have, or at least wheel with someone that has one. Tow strap, must have. Snorkel, I don't plan on going that deep that I will take on water if I get stuck so, your choice. However, an absolute MUST have, off-roading or not, is a lift!!

Got the tires at Discount Tire Direct. They were $280 each. They took $35 off my order for being a Forum member and there was an $85 rebate from Goodyear. Free shipping and in added sales tax. I also got a certificate/replacement warranty for $170.

Had them installed at Radical Motorsport, in Ramsey, NJ. Radical is great with Jeeps (they modify and sell a ton of them) and, true to their reputation, did a great job with the installation. They also installed new bump stops so the spare doesn't just hang, reprogrammed my computer to account for larger tires (with my AEV Procal) and washed my Jeep, inside and out.

Got wheels, Procal, bump stops and black lug nuts at Quadratec.

Ended up spending more than I wanted to, but got exactly what I wanted, and am super happy with the way everything looks and functions.
