Rausch Creek 1/19/14

I just realized my original post had the wrong date, and I don't see a way to edit it. Lol

I'll be heading to rausch this Sunday 1/19/14 to do greens/blues. So far it is just two of us, we'd love to have some more company...

Plan is to meet in the parking lot at 9am (or you can convoy with us from pine brook at 6:30 if you want)

Well we had a great trip, but lots of snow and ice sure made it tricky... Hit a bunch of blues and greens, and only had a few part casualties:

- I lost two factory fog light ( they didn't work anyway)
- I lost the bead on one of my tires (was able to re-bead it myself last night )
- My friend Steve lost the front bumper and grill off his WJ but he just sent me some photos of it back installed.

We did spend a bunch of quality time with our tow straps, but we certainly had a fun time doing it!

That WJ looks good with the 31s. It looks like I would have been able to give the winch a good workout!

After finding out where my tranny (32RH) vents to, I'll be way more cautious of the water I go through. It vents into the bellhousing, no hose, level with about the bottom of the door. So get stuck, or bog down too much, at that depth and it's a tow home and a trans flush (or worse).

Yea, the winch would have certainly got some use on this trip....

I like the way his jeep came out with the 31s too, but I think he needs a little more height. He rubs the fenders a little when he flexes, and since it's metal it's not good....

I don't have any more photos, but some of the other guys took some photos too. Hopefully they'll chime in.

Yea, that would suck.... I'm surprised it's vented down so low. I had about 3" of mud/water come up through my drain in the floorboard but no more than that.... Enough to fill my rubber floor mats. It probably would have been fine if I had the drain plugs in, but I keep them out all summer and never got around to putting them back.

So was I. Really it's the only bad point of that tranny. You'd have to drop the trans and drill and tap a fitting into the top of the case, and plug the breather. Too much work.
