Old Mine Road is paved. Last exit off of 80 before crossing the Delaware. It is a nice ride though...

Yeah, there are some offshoots from the road though that are dirt with some mud and water. Anyone up in that area? My buddy has a place on culver lake and we go every once in a while.

Ill try to come up with you guys next time. I was just at stokes, and found some cool trails, but was afraid to do them all since I was alone. Beautiful place though.

I'm thinking about going to stokes to hike with my girlfriend on Saturday. Are there any specific areas you think I should head too. Or should i just go anywhere and I'll probably find something nice?

Where I went, it was rocky, gravely, tree branches, etc. I'm sure after a nice rainstorm, it might get a little muddy, but I don't think anything like the Pine Barrens.

Do this...as you approach Stokes, go into the main entrance (on your right with a big sign that says STOKES STATE FOREST or something like that, and park at the main station. Get a map. Get back in the Jeep, and go back out onto the road you were just on. Make a RIGHT, and then make the FIRST left. Drive on that road (still Stokes)....you will pass a bunch of houses/lake. Keep driving down until you see a wooden post with the "street" named Shay. It will be on your left as you drive down the road. Shay is a loop. and very short, but a good warm up. Here's a map I quickly made for you....

When you make a right out of the main ranger station, make the first left into the pink road. The three stars are the offroad trails I played on. Then you can go all the way out ( leaving stokes) and make an immediate left at the cemetary, and that road will bring you to the waterfalls you see in my photo. Let me know if you want to know anything else.

Make sure you have at minimum a snatch strap (to pull any logs in your way out of your way) and don't go crazy if you are alone. I turned around at one point due to the fear of getting stranded factor. Offroading 101.

Wow. That info was awesome. Thank you so much.

On Another note, is any one going to the car show in jersey this Sunday? I don't know much info but I think it's for wounded warriors and it's from 12-5

If you go, make sure you remember (mark on your paper map) where you were and what the trails are like, so we can edit the map above for Jeeping purposes. Would be nice to have a useful piece of info for us all to use.
