Sooo I'm guessing to find trails at Stokes is pretty easy to do on your own if you look around?

Yeah if you look on the map of the park, there is a trail that goes right through the center, it starts off struble rd and there are two brick pillars at the entrance

I went to Stokes today, and it was a total success! Here is my rendition of directions. I had to do a lot of driving around and guessing and figured my way around after a good 40 minutes once I got up there. Hopefully these directions will help you guys enough so you all don't end up wasting so much time. Although I won't be making a map because I didn't honestly use mine at all.

I came from Bergen County NJ so I took 80W to Route 15 which once you take it down it turns to 206 N. You go far down it enough, and you'll hit the signs for Stokes State Forest. There will be a left hand lane to turn onto Stuble Rd. Turn onto Stuble and when you drive down, you will see a Boy Scout camp and then hit lake houses and such like someone else said. About 1.5 miles down Stuble Road, there is a turn off on your left which is a trail. 2.5 miles down from the start of Stuble is Shay Trail which is only marked by this little wooden pole. I really only used those 2 entrances, but I was entertained for a good 4 hours! There are a lot of forks on the trails to explore and such, and even still it is not very hard to get back. I basically drove down trails, somehow hit Stuble Rd, then drove back to one of the entrances, and then chose different turns to explore more trails.

It is doable for a stock Jeep. I have 32" Wrangler MTR with Kevlar tires at stock height, and it was a pretty easy ride. It is very rocky at times and there are deep groves that you may have to avoid but take it nice and slow and you'll be able to maneuver easily! Plus there are some logs and shallow mud puddles to drive through. It was my first time going off road and it was definitely a fun place to start. Probably going back next week, weather permitting. I'll post a couple pictures of my experience later.

I had the chili pepper TJ with no spare on the back.

I figured that's what happened! You're talking about the area with the overhanging tree on the left and the branch on the right side of the trail? I tried pulling the branch out of the way at first but it wouldn't budge. But I have a TJ and only 32s, no lift, so I think I'm a little shorter than the average JK and could get past it a little easier.

The only Jeeps I saw that day were you guys and then a silver unlimited up the ways who were just chilling out on camping chairs off to the side.

Yup that was you, I was the one in the back of the line and all I remember seeing was a Red Jeep with no spare! The big stick got stuck under one of the skid plates. I hit it just right it went in like a spear and I had to work it out.

Bumping this thread back up to the top. I live about 5-10 minutes from Stokes and would love to jump in the next ride/meet there if you guys go this fall. I am an experienced rockcrawler (blacks and reds at PAP before it closed) but this Jeep is staying mild (for now). I also really don't know my way around stokes at all, I've just been there hiking a few times. I'd love for the family to ride along and check out some nice fall weather/trails. I have a JKUR with a Tera 1.5" Leveling kit and the stock 32" tires. Anyone have any interest?

I'd love to do Stokes! It's mild and something I'd really like to do ...don't need to mess up my daily driver. I'll keep an eye out here ...my friend from there Rick8240 does rides occasionally maybe he'll jump into this thread and offer up a tour day :-)

Hey I've been missing in action on this forum for awhile but I was planning on going up to stokes this Sunday for a nice mild ride...I went up a couple weeks ago and there's really no big mud or anything bit still fun...nothing is set in stone but the giants play late so I can get a ride in early in the day and not miss football

It's about an hour and 15 its pretty easy to get to...unfortunately I don't know street names after getting off the highway I just know it by sight...80 west to 34b then u just stay on 15 which eventually turns into 206 and its off of 206
