I am from SE PA and in the market for a Wrangler Unlimited (love the way they look) and I have been searching around for places to "wheel". It seems I can only find two places, Wharton State Forest and Rausch Creek. Wharton is only an hour away while Rausch Creek is just over two hours.
I did some research on Wharton and it seems with a road legal vehicle its legal to "wheel" and that there are close to 500 miles of trails.
Can anyone review Wharton State Forest and describe what the trails are like, etc. Based on YT videos it seems to be sandy roads with a ton of flooded out trails. Is it a good and fun place for a beginner? Also are there any other places in the area to legally off road?
It seems like fun and that ppl from the forum are always arranging to meet and wheel at Wharton.
Thanks
