A year since anyone in MD posted?

I just joined and things seem to have changed in that year. It seems buyers of new models still don't wave, but a girl driving a Wrangler south on 355 in Rockville last week beat me to the wave! Anyone still out there?

Darn, nothing was showing for about a year but I guess refresh does work. Still not enough chatter here in MD.

Guess I'll say a little something. New Owner of Black JK Rubicon (March 2014). Probably will hit Ocean City this weekend to see what this OC Jeep thing is all about.

I wave at any Jeeps I see but rarely get a wave back. Every once in a while I do but since I'm an old coot they might think I'm being creepy. Still, you'd think there would be more of it here.

That's true. Recently got back from Oakland and they are a bunch of happy wavers out there. Seems the city Jeeps are too wrapped up in themselves or something. Not judging, just sayin'.

I too always wave. Sometimes I don't see one and my daughter will say "that jeep just waved and you didn't!" I get all bummed out. Lol

Driving from Timonium up to Westminster this morning for new tires. Passed several JKs and JKUs. Several JKs waved, only a small number of JKUs did. And I'm driving a JKU. However, females driving did not wave. Ever. It was only guys who waved. Must be a sociology grad school study in here somewhere, lol.

I see a mix. Sometimes, I'll miss the opportunity because I'm looking elsewhere but the wave has bee reciprocated about 90 percent for me. Perhaps its because of the types of people who own them in Mont Co just don't know about it.

One time I waved to a heavily modified Wrangler but just got a strange look. Might have been because I'm a mallcrawler and haven't modified mine. Really don't plan to, either, since I bought a Dragon Edition for its package.

Just wanted to say hello. I've owned jeeps for years..1981 CJ5, 1951 CJ3a, and a 1971 CJ5 but haven't been able to afford one since I've been married with kids. I'm working on the wife right now to let me get another one but so far she's not too keen on it. I know her well enough to say that if she would just drive one she would end up keeping it and I would never get to drive it. LOL so for right now I'm just lurking and wishful thinking.

Haha... If I see another jeeper I wave and I am a female but I get it. There are a lot of people around here who don't wave. I drive around Anne Arundel and Harford Counties a lot. The closer I get to Pasadena, the more people that wave back. I see a lot of folks out there with Pasadena or Chesapeake Jeepers decals.

I am having Jeep meet and greets every other Sunday at Oregon Ridge. I am looking for some new faces to come out and meet others and of course you can wave! I am having one tomorrow the 22nd. Call me if you need directions.

Was driving around today and got about a 40% wave-back ratio. My TJ has been sidelined a couple of years, but just picked up a JK to have while I'm restoring that one, so I'm out of practice on the wave, so I might have missed some myself!

FWIW, I've been preparing my daughter for the wave for a couple of years now. She'll inherit the TJ in the next 3 years or so as her first car (hence the renovation efforts), and we've been playing a game where every time someone sees a Jeep, they say "Jeep!" and tap the roof. We keep scores, for whomever gets the most Jeeps along a trip. First person to 21 wins the set (and starts a new game), or, if nobody gets to 21 by the time the trip ends, the highest score wins.

Whenever she gets her Jeep, she's already well-prepared to wave, so hopefully she'll break the trend of non-waving females.

Maryland girl trapped in Delaware! Newbie to Jeep. Just bought her last Tuesday and couldn't stop giggling at my first wave. I was told when I bought her that I now have to wave to my cohorts. I'm all for it! Oh and very excited to learn everything about off road fun.

Don't get offended by those who don't wave. Consider it your honorable duty to show those less fortunate in our community the proper greeting!

Welcome to the family!
