hey guys reporting in to this thread now that I have a wrangler of my own.

YJGUY: would love to go but I am still getting the hang of a manual transmission so I will have to pass this weekend, but give me a couple of weeks and I should feel comfortable enough with a manual by then to join you guys for some fun. about this trail though, is this a good trail for a beginner?

Yeah definitely a great starting trail. To be honest my first run I was crossing my fingers to, I'm rocking the 2.5...lol

But in all seriousness there are mud holes, are there are parts where you'll have to creep a little. The trail is 18 miles all the way around so the terrain does vary. I make it generally in 4HI sometimes 4LO but it's really alot of fun. In the middle is a huge parking area to talk to your friends about how you did this or that, then roll on.

Visit the Greenridge website and look at the trail. Print it out and bring it with you I have one at all times just as a reminder. And lastly, if you go there will be other jeepers there

No problem Phantom were just trying to go before the snow.

You don't need a permit to go. It's totally free, however if you want to camp they charge you.

Were going to meet just off the exit (15 mile creek) at 1pm probably wait 15 minutes and the roll. I'll give you my number if you wanna contact me directly to ask questions just shoot me a pm.

New jeep owner from Southern MD. '03 TJ Sport. Made a trip to Assateague a few weeks ago and joined that. Hoping to make a trip to Greenridge by Spring. Saving money now for lift, wheels and tires.

Very nice, I wish I had a two car garage so I can install a hoist and do the same.

Hey John it turned out ok. 2 jeeps and 3 trucks. Nobody broke anything and nobody got stuck, most of the mud holes were frozen over.

I was hoping more people would show (yjgirl) but maybe after winter.

i havent been to greenridge but talked to a MOCO police officer who said that greenridge is lame. he said with a lift and 33's it would be boring almost. (not my opinion) but does sound accurate. i think a group trip to rausche creek would be waaay more fun.

Why not do it by yourself? probs with the jeep? or are you still uncomfortable doing stuff without some backup in case something goes wrong?
