Maryland Land Use proposal 2014

Maryland just opened their plan for land use open to comments.

DNR Seeking Public Input on Proposed Recreation Plan for State Lands | DNR News

This is the proposed plan:

Stewardship - Land Acquisition and Planning - Maryland Department of Natural Resources

Notable is that sadly off-road activities was at the bottom of the list of preferred activities by polled individuals.

I suggest submitting a politely worded letter to: before Feb 14, 2014. They have to review all comments.

Fatkat, I agree but it's a catch 22.. because of the habits of many off roaders (bad habits) we end up on the bottom of the list but if the atv's keep up with the way they ride.. we may actually move up a notch. I think it best said that one bad apple tends to ruin it for all of us. I think off roaders like myself try to show these commeties that "We" some of us, want to mildly off road without trashing up the land and we tend to end up on friends or families land.. which at the moment is all good.. Let them fight or do what ever they want and we shouldn't explect anything from them any time soon only until a few of the "bad apples" prove they can ride a trail without trashing it.

My update?.. Well I'm approching this a bit differantly.. and I may just have a few surpised for jeep/off roaders.. (mild trails)

Nope. DNR is in charge of determining new areas to consider for OHV usage. We have been working with DNR for some years now to try and get something, anything, opened up for all OHV users. But working with the State of Maryland is like...well...working with the State of Maryland.
