MD Inspection Question

I just bought an 88 yj with the 4.2l engine for $500. Needless to say it needs a ton of work. Part of the repairs include a new exhaust system. In order to install the new tailpipe the rear track bar must be removed. Unfortunately it has rusted and frozen into place and needs to be cut out. I even tried cutting the bolts but the center of the bolt is locked inside the bushing. It looks like I have to sacrifice the track bar to remove it and install the exhuast. My question is can I pass MD Inspection without it. If so I would remove the brackets, grind everything flat and paint it like it was never there. If not I will take any suggestions. Thanks.

Only if it's registered as historic in which case there are restrictions on driving it.

Are you talking track bar or sway bar? I don't believe a YJ has a track bar with leaf springs. A rear sway bar is not required but is desirable on the road
