Hey all,

At the risk of getting blasted for this, I am thinking about doing a little stage 1 work to my JKU and was wondering if anyone could recommend someone in the central MD area (I am in HOCO) that they have had do work before.

My budget is tight but I can get these parts for about $200 and change my Jeep stance enough to not be factory at least.

This will allow up to 33s when I finish off my stock treads.

TF leveling on its way to arrive in next few days. Picked it up (was used for a few weeks) from Cali on the market here. $90. Any locals willing to help install? I have no tools, jacks, or experience but willing to learn if someone wants to have some fun with install.

great! I used to live on MacBeth near henryton; In Ellicott City now. I also have wheel spacers that need to go in too, if you would want to do both it would help me out. How much would you install for? Or you can PM if you want.

Leveled and wider

Ox. Here she is. Great work done by Mvnvltn postd ^^^^. Way cheaper than the 5 quotes got locally and he welcomed (or at least tolerated haha) me checking out the work and asking questions to learn while he was doing the the installs, which I really appreciated.

btw these are the stock 255/70/18s at around 35-37 psi.

Looks good. Any plans for new wheels or tires?

I'll be off 29 between 108 and 175 in Columbia. Would be down to meet up with local HoCo folks.

Guy in my current neighborhood just moved in. Has a JK that's almost identical to mine. Wonder if he is on here.

Thx man. Plan is to wear out stock tires some more. hoping to pick up wheels and garage them until current rubber is shot. Going at least 33s Maybe 34s? leaning toward dropping to 17s, would prefer to stay 5x5 pattern since I just added the spacers.
When you move you will be less than 10 mins from me up off route 40. I work with two three other JKU owners, one with 3 inch lift, other three stocks. .

Giga, I've never done a lift, would be happy to lend my garage, tools, and time to work with you on it if you'd like.

I plan on doing my big brake kit this Fall/Winter, will post up when I do if someone wants to lend a hand and enjoy a cold one

Giganova, mvnvltn above does work out of his garage in sykesville. He charged me a less than half of my lowest quote from a shop AND let me check out what he was doing under the lift which really helped me learn.

I am moving to Maryland in the next 3 months, hartford county, i don't know a whole lot about the geography of the state, but it isn't that big (GA, where i current live is huge in comparison) anyway, i d be very interested to meet some local jeepers, as i don't know anyone from the area.

I am from NJ, so i know all about population density. lol

harford county is 45mins -1 hour from hoco depending on time of travel. Where in NJ? For sure come spring I would be into going to rausch creek. I have never been. Would do light to mid trails. Still working on balding the stock tires before getting some upgrades.

I went to Rausch for the first time this Spring. We stuck to greens and it was definitely more challenging than what I imagined. I've got an issue with my rear axle that I'm working on correcting. As soon as I do, I'm going back. You're more than welcome to join.

Yes ! I'm in. Will just need to plan it ahead. Heard its good up there and I have no problem starting slow. This is my DD and I am not trying to bang it up because I do something stupid.

I can attest to this, since it was me haha. Hows its going Ox, hows the Jeep looking? And like he said, look around on CL, especially around the holidays, with people getting new parts left and right. Ive been looking into getting a small leveling kit but I want to wait until after I get my lift installed next spring before the wife and I head down to Daytona for Jeep Beach. Looks good though, may think about it if the lift doesnt do enough for me.

Still hanging on to the stock sahara 18s (until fully worn), stock fenders, 1.5" spacers with the terraflex 2" leveling pucks. likely going 295 70 17 when its time. or 285 75 17. I actually like the wider look of the 295s, with only a half inch less in height. than the other listed above.
