Hit me with with possible ideas!!!!

So I am new too the whole Jeep gang, I have a 1995 Rio Grande 5speed manual.....My head lights just recently (last night) started shutting off when i have the heat on and I switch to high beams? They come right back on but still confusing; Could this be electrical or could I just be a dumbass and my jeep likes messing with my emotions? I'm taking the dash and everything out on sunday too try and figure it out but just wondering if anyone else has experienced something like this?

i just went through an electrical repair class and it sounds like you have a short in the wires. possibly on the ground side

I was kind of thinking that too because it smells like somethings burning so I'll shut off my heat completely and put my hand on the light switch and its pretty hot! Thank you!

heat generated by dc voltage usually signifies high resistance...the contacts in that switch may well be suspect!

No my trans went on me, soo it's sitting at my parents house waiting for my parts to come in, turns out the owner before me or whom ever worked on it before me was a real "winner"....
