I am working with the planning committee to get a meeting/parking area at the event for WF members. Looks promising that it will happen. I will keep you posted. It would be nice to meet some forum members there.

Registered and reserved camping space for my first festival. I actually grew up just down the road from the campground in Portersville, but have never been to the jeep heritage festival.
Can anyone fill me in on the difficulty level and any modifications required to participate in events?

Feel free to message me with questions about the area if you have never been.

There are obstacles for stock Jeeps as well as modified. The Bantam site lists requirements like tow hooks, properly installed battrey, etc. Check there to make sure you have what you need.

The closest hotel/motel to Cooper's lake is the Evening Star in Slippery Rock. I wish I could go. Coopers Lake is a fun spot, I went to school at Slippery Rock State University so it's my old stomping grounds. If you want a spot to cool off and hang out in the water go to Rock Falls. Also a good breakfast joint is the Camelot on main st. in Slippery Rock. A killer sub shop called Bob's subs makes awesome sandwiches. Cheers.

So here is the latest I've heard from the Bantam Jeep Festival. The first deadline for the Festival package is March 31! If you register now you save 30%. The package is $70 (Jeep Invasion, Ruff'n Tuff, Mystery Road Rally, Jeep Playground and On-site Trails). Between April 1 and May 18, the package discount drops to 20%.

They are also seeking stories from Veterans that had experiences with Jeeps for their Veteran's Recognition Luncheon. They can be from any war, and anything related to the Jeep as a military vehicle (funny stories, how the Jeep helped them, etc.).

I'm also hearing they have a Friends of the Festival print available in their online store. The design features a Bantam logo with an outline of the Butler County Courthouse and a BRC-40 from a lower angle view in order to emphasize the distinctive grill of the Jeep. The details were drawn from photos that Henderson took of the BRC-40 and rely heavily on the Bantams history as a military vehicle as well as the close tie to its birthplace in Butler. Very cool if you ask me.

Hope to see you all there. We really need to all meetup as a Forum!

It looks like they will have an area in the parking lot where guys can at least meet up before going in to the festival. I would rather see something inside, but we will have to continue to push for that.

So I was talking to the folks over at the Bantam festival and hear they were giving away goodies at the Jeep Beach over the weekend if you had your Bantam Shirt on!

Also found out they are doing a couple of new things this year at the Bantam Festival. New this year there is the jeep corral. This is an opportunity for Jeepers to buy/sell their jeeps. A separate area of the grounds is designated for people to bring in Jeeps they would like to sell. If you are interested, contact the Festival at 724-234-2291 so they have a count of Jeep Corral participants.

I've also heard they are having a Bantam Garage. Great place for those of us who break down or who have problems throughout the Festival. I'm hearing they are going to have certified technicians who can put us back together again. :-) Best part is there is no charge for the labor... we just have to pay for the parts!

I'm getting so stoked for this!

Can't wait to see you all there.

Damn, that's the weekend I am flying to Europe for two weeks. I only live 30 minutes away from the event, too! I should rent out my house for the weekend

Me too. I live about 30 miles south and fish at Morraine. This will be my first Jeep type event but seems a little pricey? They charge for every event. $80 to be a participant. Is that normal for this type event?

  • Jeep Playground & On-site Trails: $40
  • Moraine Trail Ride: $20
  • Mystery Road Rally: $30
  • Jeep Team Challenge: $30
  • Jeep Invasion: $10
  • Glacial Interpretive Driving Tour: $10
  • Historic Travels Tour: $20
  • Show ‘n Shine: $20
  • Ruff ‘n Tuff: $20

Yes it's expensive, I usually only do the playground and trails. did the jeep invasion once and was sitting in traffic more than I was walking around. Isn't the $80 you pay like a package deal for everything?

Yeah I got the package deal but there was a deadline for that so it maybe over.

Not sure tho.

I figure compared to a lot of other kinds of entertainment it's still pretty cheap. Heck a two hour movie will set you back over $40 with just popcorn and a drink. At least we get to jeep all weekend :-)

We have met more people camping than at the festival itself. Always nice to sit around the fire with like minded people and enjoy a few drinks after a long day of wheeling.
