Anyone Going to Bantam Festival 2014

Anyone from the Forum going? I went two years ago with my son and we had a blast. Just made a reservation at the campground. It's filling up and you can't even register for the festival yet!

Campground seemed to be filling up pretty quick actually. Saying that, they can fit a lot of people in that campground.

That's the same campground they hold the big Pennsic war every year. I've never been to that but I hear it's a sight to see.

That looks like it could be a great time with the great group of Jeepers! Does anyone know how far it is from SE PA (West Chester area)...

Thanks in advance.

You're looking at about a 5 1/2 hour drive from West Chester, give or take...

Thank you for the quick response! It looks like it might be worth the trek. I will see if I can round up some other local Jeep guys/girls to make the trip with. I'm looking forward to getting my new JK8 to some events for some fun!

No sweat. I live about 45 minutes away, so I might camp out and sneak home for a shower and what not. Always looking for fellow Jeepers to hang out with.

Can you give a brief rundown on what its like and what to expect? Is it cool to head up solo? I'm new to the Jeep scene so just wondering what to expect. Is camping the way to go or are there hotels close by? I didn't seed any prices for the event other than some trail prices etc... I've done some Rover events in the past and they were a good time.

Instead of me writing a book about how cool it is, click on the link above that SEAKER posted and check it out. From Friday's jeep invasion, which is really cool to see all the individual mod preferences on everyone's jeep, to the "playground", to the encampment, and trails, to talking to other jeep enthusiasts about everything jeep and finally having someone understand your hidden passion that makes you feel like a kid again who has a new favorite toy everytime you get behind the wheel....I could go on and on, but I don't want to write a book, so, just click the link and hopefully we will see you there!

Oh about the camping...my husband and I like to camp. It is a family type camping and there are many families that do camp out. The areas we have camped previously, all the surrounding campers have been respectful of others. Yes, there is drinking and fun but nothing that I have seen or heard about anyone causing trouble. Camping for us works.

Heading up solo is not an issue! Lots of people do! I believe there are some hotels around, but I'm not sure where.

What's the weather like there usually? I'm from Va and for June it's usually pretty hot but not too humid. Thanks!

That will depend on what kind of summer it turns out to be. Good chance of hot and humid though.

The past couple years it has been nice. Comfortable sleeping for camping. It did rain last year in Sunday, but that made it more fun! Temperature wise around 75 throughout the day.
