Really? Wow, I've never heard that before.. That's one of the ONLY 3 things I have never done.. along with rebuilding transmissions, and rebuilding transfer cases.. I've done most everything else. Including rebuilding my own engines. ( a lifetime ago) I've always sent the heads out though ... Please, I'm clueless, exactly how does one set up a ring and pinion properly? You know, all those precise measurements needed to set everything up, backlash and all that...? Tell me your method, so when I go to 4:88s I too can do it myself.. .

Where is Springfield? There is a very good shop out in Myerstown, ( east of Harrisburg ). That I would trust..

Regearing is not easy. There is a place in Tom's River NJ, Globex - good work, good price and a place in Harleysville PA, Jeff Daniels - good work, on the high side for pricing.

Those are the only two I know of in the area.

Are you at 4.1? Would think you would want to go into the 5 range to make it worth your while. At that point you also want to think about sleeves and gussets.

Oops sorry,, yes I do have 4:11s, and am very pleased runnin 33s with them.. It was a rhetorical/hypothetical statement, to drive home my sarcasm/humor at the obviously uninformed statement about how easy it is to swap out ring and pinions.. My next major mod is 2 or 3 years away.. I've debated with myself, diesel or V8 gasser.. The more research I do, the closer I am to deciding upon the LS generation III GM... Even the little 292 has 90 more horses and nearly 100 ft lbs more than my current 4.0... Now my debate lies in wether I hire a shop to do it, or do it myself... Time and money? A shop can do it in a week,, it'd take me 6 months, as I only have Saturdays to do it.. Anyone know any good shops besides Jeff Daniels?

I know a few people who have used Down N Dirty Offroad and been happy with them, they are in Reading.
