Look, as a lifelong resident of Uncle Ed Rendell's world, I get most things about PA, (Pgh stuff, especially) But I don't get the flipped tail light thing, and smart arse answers are just rude. So that being said, I'll ask (politely) again, Why would you flip a tail light? It it like bmanrkg3 said a reverse Jeep Wave or what?

We are just playing around because no one understands the original posters intent. I don't think there is any benefit to it. Some people may just do it because they can. Why put clear turn signal lenses on? To give it a different look. Although, I heard it makes Honda's faster.

That's OK, I was just trying to get my mind around the concept.

I've never seen it, but at least on a TJ, it'd have to be the passenger side light, if you flip the DS light, you'd loose the plate light and John Law would certainly frown on that!

In trucking the "light in the loafers" drivers will do odd things with their lights to advertise to one another...I'm not saying that's what this is for...you know, I'm just say'n

Seriously, I'd really like to know the story on this.

Ok. I dk if its just my area but I would see a lot of YJ's with 1 of their tailights flipped upsidedown! I couldn't remember which 1 but I figured it out cuz u can't flip the driverside 1 cuz of the license plate light.
No its not a city thing. Its pretty much probably a hick thing! lol
Or maybe just cuz they can! I don't know the specific reason behind it...it could also be to have more light when backing up?! Cuz the reverse light will b closer to the ground?! I have no idea why exactly!

The thing I don't get is - can you really easily flip it upside down?

The light is held in w/ three bolts in a triangle shape.

. X
.X X

Flipping them upside down won't be easy, unless you're just going to flip the lense, but then the backup light will light up red and the the brake/tail light will bleed through the clear section.

I'm more confused now than ever.
