Exclamation PA build meets?

I am a recent Jeep owner and I am cruising around in a used JKU...which was the only thing that would get me back to the Jeep thing after selling my 98 years ago. Wife did not think a 2 door would be good again, so the ultimatum was made, and I bought a 4 door which satisfied her but it is too stock!

Do you Philly / SE Jeepers belong to any clubs or have any build/swaps to help people do any mods, like lifts or bumpers, etc?I'd love to learn how to do it as opposed to making a dealer or specialty shop richer.

I'm in the Green Lane area of PA. Let me know. I want to learn but I have no friends with Jeeps...which is their problem, not mine. I'll take a Jeep over a highlander or element any day...

Good to know. I am a bit overwhelmed when it comes to playing around with the Jeep or any vehicle.

I'm with you Don, I'm looking into doing a small (~2/2.5") lift and bigger tires in the upcoming months, the tires I can handle but I'd really love to learn how to do the lift myself

Good to know. Where about the Philly area are you? I have a 1.5 leveling kit that I'd love to tackle when I get back from vacation with someone nearby that knows his stuff.

So do any of you freelance and want to do a meet up sometime? I have a small lift kit and an off camber light loop and fogs I'd love to do on my own, and not spend the 850 I was quoted to get it done...I just don't have good tools or ability! Let me know.

With a couple of jack stands and basic hand tools the leveling kit should only take 2-3 hours to install.

the spacer lifts are pretty easy, I've done a couple of them. Just need to disconnect the the shocks and swaybar and that should allow the axle to droop far enough to pull the springs and install the new spacers.

Still, I worry I will break it. I can play with radios and non essentials, but I worry about anything that's important. I am the one that makes mechanics rich. Lol.

Send a message via AIM to Jdieser
happy i stumbled across this thread. i am currently in NYC but got a '94 yj stored at my parents house in macungie thats yearning for a face lift. its about time.

was looking at the below 4'' lift package. w/ some 2'' shackles (was told i needed)
Skyjacker Standard 4" Suspension Lift Kit for 87-95 Jeep® Wrangler YJ - Quadratec

also want to include 35/12.5 mud terrain bf goodrich tires with some black wheels

a rugged ridge cold air intake system to compliment the stock engine and the 35's

one labor estimate at a garage i spoke to was astronomical so im going to plan B.

anyone on here able to do this work (im kind of handcuffed because im in nyc now but want to get the work done).

open to any suggestions on the parts as well. my poor wrangler was all stock when i got it and i havnt dont much since.

message me on the outside and we can talk cost/process if anyone is up for the task or if anyone knows of a good garage to get it done nearby macungie, pa.

thanks jeepers
