Right? Its an old dump... I was warned not to let anything touch my skin there cus its probably toxic. haha

I just don't get why everyone hates the offroad community.. Hell, we're the only ones who go out there and see what its actually like unless they're creepin' to take pictures of y'all.

Guess this means the Philly area is limited to the Pines in Jersey or Rausch? Reading Anthracite is set to be opened in the spring.

Yeah I guess so. I mean there's a few little local spots I know of but, you can wheel the whole place in like an hour lol.

Talked wit a buddy Who was there art pendell. Conservation officer was conducting survailence. Got pics of everyone..tag numbers.. originally he wanted to get everyone out to entrance ..big fines ect. wetlands destruction..( its a dump) but the pendell n Bensalem pd weren't having any part of goin back there..dont blame them.. I think a couple that didn't run were confronted and talked it out.. the officer is in charge of poquessing ( Ben rush) and neshaminy( pendell) streams and wetlands.. he's got an issue with off-roading on the wetlands and crossing streams ect..I can respect that. he's going to be watching these areas so I think its probably in everyone best interest to stay out of those areas.. in the end the guy was pretty cool about it and some trespass tickets will be issued but that's the extent of it as far as I've heard. I know its tough finding local spots and rausch isn't an option every weekend..pines are boring ect. if you got a spot..keep it on the down lo ..keep it clean..and enjoy .. BTW rausch Nov.3/4 if anyones down.

I have been back there 2 times in the past three weeks. I haven't seen anyone official at all. People that I have met have been going there for 10 years or more. You can tell by the trails that place has been there a long time. I know the primary way to get in there is not even the way people used to get in, but they blocked the other entrances in 2004 with concrete and fence. I am not worried about it. I will be back. I will let it cool a few weeks though.

In the meantime I have been using Google maps Satellite view to find offroad spots. All I will say is that in and around Philly there are a lot of them. You can see tire tracks from satellite view so it is easy to tell where people have already wheeled. I have a list of 20 or more places to check out. Once I am done with that I will be back in Penndel.

I will say that if you look on Google maps and follow the Rivers and streams you will find trails all over the place around philly. That is all I have to say. If I find a place that I know a lot of people can go I will share. Until then I will keep exploring.

And if you got 35's, lockers, and a winch, it is your responsibility to go find places where there could be trails, and make them!

Oh, and I need to add one more thing. The airport is fenced off now. I dont know if anyone in this thread mentioned that or not since I havent read the whole thing. I will say it is still good since anyone who has gone there should know that there is a back way into the trails where they didnt put up a fence. I was back there about a month ago. More people need to go more often. Since the dirtbikes and ATVs cant get in anymore the trails are getting overgrown quick. It will be nearly impassible if people dont keep going back and tearing it up. Awesome that there are no ATVs and stuff now too. No one to worry about running over. Just stay out of view of the big fence they put up and you can wheel back there for hours with no problem. The fence is on the Ft.Mifflin rd side of course by the plain sand part. Just stay out of that sand like I said and no one will know your there. And watch out for the deep water, some of it can be pretty bad.

Airport

I took my kid to the airport for the first time, road around looking for a somwhere to wheel. Found access to a spot must have been a mile or so past fort mifflin enterance on the same side. Small spot to wheel I did see the fence and rode along it until we hit the railroad tracks and turned around. On the way out about 300 ft. from our access I seen a Philly cop care cross over. I waited and then went ahead, as I headed of the trail the cop was sitting to the side. I got out to turn my axle locks gave him a wave and he never flinched.... Went on my way. Gotta find the other trails there...

I remember going to the pines about 11 years ago with EC4X4 and Iron in the Pines. We gathered at a bar, think it was Picadillies. We entered about a quarter mile up the road going east on the same side. Maybe google it..

The entrance you want will be off of Enterprise Ave on your right hand side when you are going towards the onramp for I95 North. That is "The Motherload" at the airport. You used to be able to go in from the side the fence is on, but not anymore. From what I have seen there is no way around that fence. The entrance I just mentioned will take you into the same trails, but from the back end. Hop off the road quick and do whatever you got to do for 4WD once you're in the woods. You wont need 4WD until you get in about 200ft anyway and see the first big mud puddle, just get out of sight of the road. That is one of the best places in Philly to wheel. And the cops dont care about Jeeps, it was the jerks riding wheelies on their dirtbikes and ATV's that got the fence put up. I still try to avoid the piggies though. Wouldn't want to mess it up for everyone else and have them put a fence up there too.

BTW, if any of you guys see me around Philly, dont hesitate to wave me over. I am always looking to wheel with more people, find new spot, and explore. My buddy with a nice lifted Cherokee will usually join too. Here's my rig. I am pretty sure it is the only one you will see in Philly like this.

Haha looks good. There's a lifted Yj, haven't had the chance to stop and see it, in the Radnor/Wayne area that's orange with chrome hinges and all. I need to start meeting some more Jeep guys. Haha

I'm definitely game to go sometime. I was going to head up to the airport but saw the fence when we got there ( didn't know about the back entrance ). I'll keep a look out on this thread for any local trips somewhere. Got a new winch I've been dyin' to use.

YJ, Thanks for the info. Had a 95 YJ for 8 years sold it when I had the kids, wish I kept it.... Anyway I'll def. wave you over, my pic is small but I drive a gun metal blue CJ7 with swampers, do the same. There was a great weekend planned at Wharton this weekend for a fundraiser, all kinds of goodies they were giving out. Found out about late, and have work this weekend. Hope it got rescheduled for another weekend dut to the storm. Camping and riding with a clean up all weekend. Giving away a winch and bumber tire carrier as some of the great givaways. Anyway see you guys out there somewhere...

I'd stay away for a while. It's being watched. Probably mostly on the weekends so if you want to chance it your better off going on a weekday.

You wouldn't happen to have been parked on Terrace Street in Manayunk last night would you? I'm 99% sure I saw your Jeep walking home from T Hogan Pub last night, haha.

If you have to do that to wheel a spot, u should stop going there as it gives us all a bad rap.....

Land that is being watched or otherwise supposed to be off limits should be left alone

Illegal wheeling makes ALL off roaders look bad
