I hit Byberry today. It was ok, but not hard enough. My buddy and i hit every hole, mud hill, and flooded area and never got stuck. Airport is more challenging for sure. Pendell is harder than either of them by a mile though. We get stuck all over the place back in there trying the extreme ruts and holes. Then we pull each other out.

I'd like to do a group ride with the locals. I was looking for a local club. Found Highrollerzjeepclub.com, lots of members but little action. Could be something to build on. Overkill, so byberry really not worth it? I'll keep it in mind sounds like a good spot with the kids for a short day, and close to the area. Hopefully Pendell will chill out after a while. Still want to do the airport... When I had my other jeep I had a winch and didn;t mind getting moderately stuck, but without one.....

I think that's a great idea. It'd be cool to meet some more people around here that are into wheelin'. Where about in Philly is everyone? We can pick a place somewhere in the middle so not too many people have to drive far.

Got a lot of people from all over. Rich is outta West Chester and I'm outta Radnor. I know a couple guys who used to be on here regularly from out this way as well. Somewhere in Philly is prolly the best place to meet.

If we meet at a place like Fluke's Bar in the Northeast they have a large parking lot and of course beer. Haven.t been there in a while. Any place is good for me... Maybe something on the Roosevelt Blvd. that might be easy for the out of towners or near 95...

JD, how do you like your Engo? Was looking at one or a Runva I think it's spelled like that. Supposed to be a better Chinese make than the others. I had a Ramsey and loved it, Warn little expensive but prob. worth the money. Great prices on Engo's.

Franklin's in East Falls has a good size parking lot and a porch if we wanted to be outside, as well as a good sized bar and restaurant. They sponsor our rugby team as well, I can talk to them maybe?

I love my Engo 10K. It's never let me or Rich down the multitude of times we've been stuck together. haha

I'm plannin' on buyin' my sister a 9K for Christmas for her Tj. I got my 10K for $318 from Rockridge 4WD. They just had another sale that ended yesterday, but I'm sure if you were to call Jeff (pretty sure thats his name) and mention you're on WF and the storm stopped you from calling, he'd hook you up with the deal. They're real good people out there.

My winch was a couple days late due to a train accident (out of their hands) and he was great about figurin' out what happened and gettin' it out to me ASAP after makin' sure it was in no way damaged.

Franklin's looks like a good place. Good size parking lot so we don't have to worry about finding street parking or anything. Plus it's not terribly far from the guys in Radnor and West Chester. Do we want to keep this on the Philly forum or post on our model tech forums as well to try to get people that don't watch this one?

Feel free to post it wherever. I'll talk to Franklin's about what it would cost to have a large party or see what they say about using the porch and all.

haha only if I could move on some of my class work this fast. Why doesn't accounting/international business interest me as much as my Jeep and offroading?!

Thats true..

As an aside, how'd y'all end up with the Hurricane damage? Jus a couple small branches and leaves here in Radnor. Few trees in the area were knocked down.

No problem down here in the city, but the house I'm selling in Andorra (upper Roxborough) got hit. My neighbors tree fell into a PECO pole in the yards and the PECO pole fell ripping both our meters and wires right off the wall. Lying in the yard. PECO was there, I guess they will get to it. My idiot sister stayed in Wildwood, and Mom stayed in Cape May. Just water damage. You asked.... lol...

What about chickie and Pete's on the boulevard?
Also have a place in mind fairly close there that we could wheel at if some of you are down with that , we could make it for this weekend , but I would like to get a head count first if we're planning to eat at chickie and Pete's ...

Manayunk didn't get it too too bad, branches here and there. Saw a bunch of huge trees down on my way to work Monday. There was a tree blocking 3 lanes of Henry Ave near the Andora Shopping Center (5 lane road, 2 each way with a turn lane in the middle). I pulled off to the side and hooked the winch up to it and pulled it far enough to clear the center turn lane so traffic both ways didn't have to share 2 lanes. That was an accident waiting to happen.

As far as the place goes, I'm game for either. Franklin's might be easier for our friends outside the city. The boulevard can get kinda crumby with the lights and traffic. I can assume myself, 1984 cj71987, JDeBlois, Lilred94, OverkillYJ, and Smittybuilt88 are good to go? I don't know how many will respond if I post on the JK forum.

Anybody else on this forum that want's to jump in sound off!

More people need to go more often. Since the dirtbikes and ATVs cant get in anymore the trails are getting overgrown quick. It will be nearly impassible if people dont keep going back and tearing it up. Awesome that there are no ATVs and stuff now too. No one to worry about running over. Just stay out of view of the big fence they put up and you can wheel back there for hours with no problem. The fence is on the Ft.Mifflin rd side of course by the plain sand part. Just stay out of that sand like I said and no one will know your there. And watch out for the deep water, some of it can be pretty bad.
Tresspassing on Airport land is a big problem. When DHS finds you out there, its going to be an impounded Jeep and jail time. Advocating tresspassing really isn't what this forumn is all about. Just saying, wheel legal, tread lightly.

Hope it got rescheduled for another weekend dut to the storm. Camping and riding with a clean up all weekend. Giving away a winch and bumber tire carrier as some of the great givaways. Anyway see you guys out there somewhere...
It happened. Prizes were awesome. Camping was great, but got the word to get out of Wharton at 0500. Threw the gear in the Jeep and boogeyed. Great time!

Check out RECON Winches. Pricing around or better than the ENGO and solenoid is waterproofed.

You should look it up before commenting. It is NOT airport land. It is an empty lot owned by the city that goes under 95. Been used for offroading for at least 10 years before they put a fence on 1 side. That is thanks to dirtbikes and quads thinking the streets there are good for wheelies and burning rubber.

Franklin's works for me, but it depends when. Wifey is 9 months pregnant. Blvd is bad idea (no offense) traffic lights and parking suck.
