New to ownership and only been in Philly for about a year. I have had the Wrangler which is a black 2013 Sport with Rubicon wheels and tires for about a month now.

I have been to Wharton State forest already and plan to go again the weekend of the 16th. I thought about where I should hop on the trails this time and i was thinking Atsion is that a good plan?

Happy to be onboard.

Best,
Nick

Don't go alone is the best advice I can give you. Atsion is usually where I go in from.

I have a friend with a pickup who will be going with me. He will be there for with a recovery strap if I need it.

I assume you said that for the fear of me getting stuck and not due to crazy indigenous woodsmen?

The BEST investment you will ever make on your Jeep is a winch! For me, its paid for itself 100X over.

Nah no woodsmen, just the jersey devil lol. It's a fun place but if your not familiar with it , it's nice to run with with people who know what holes are nasty .. Etc. just don't wanna hear about Wharton claiming another one lol.

Anybody have a rivet tool I could drive over and borrow for like 5 minutes? I'm trying to install a set of limb raisers and need a rivet tool for the A piller brackets. I don't feel like trying to hack it with a set of pliers.

Fair enough. When in doubt I will be avoid the hole... for now. Eventually I will need to meet more people in the community who know more than I (which shouldn't be hard) to become more familiar with the trails. If anyone is out there tomorrow I will be by Atsion.

yeah there great they did my 8.8 swap. I've known Mike and Maury for about 8 years. They ended up getting me into jeeps about 3 years ago.

Go with a good rust destroyer like Napa rust proof or por15, after wire brushing the rust off, it will keep it from coming back.
I did mine with Por15 & then covered it with gloss black it looks sweet.

Thanks will look in to it. Don't have a big enough garage to do the work but I will definitely look into your suggestion of paint.

Mike,

I got the Jeep up and running. So far I put all new brake lines, brake hoses, wheel cylinders, rotors, shoes and pads, battery, full exhaust, water pump, shocks, springs, tie rod drag link, wheels and tires. I have a Dana 44 for the rear out of a 2004 Rubicon I'm going to put in at some point. I have a set of MCE flat fenders for the front and will be removing the flares from the rear. I'm going to paint the Jeep the same flat OD green I painted the wheels.

So 40lbs of kitty litter and a couple pushes later, total car rescue count was 8. Too bad I couldn't break out the strap, just people stuck on small hills

I'm going to try to make it look more like an old Army Jeep. That's why I picked the wheels I did. I think they look more old school then others I looked at. I'll post pics when I get it painted.

Sorry, I gave the old wheels and tires to my brother in law for his Jeep.
