Hey man, I run a 5 spd offroad.. It's all about that 4Lo 2nd gear when jus drivin, then obstacles use 1. If you have a hand throttle, use it for your rpms. If you don't, invest. Haha

Yeah that's what I hear. I don't have a hand throttle. I have a 2008 4 door rubicon with 4"lift on 35s. I think esp is what was messing me up last time I went. Took it off during the snow storm and it drive more like my zj did as far as well spin and power. Also, still learning the features of the rubicon in terms of lockers and sway bar

5spd/6spd off roads easy takes a few times to get it down but by your 2nd, 3rd time out you'll be fine.

This whole work/school/train thing is killing my trail time, I've been dying to get back there again. Waaay more twisty than that first time with the wash outs. That was back at the end of the summer. I'm slowly convincing myself that my 31s don't have enough tread so that I bump up a size and get to the bigger hills there. That or lock it up, hell if I know where the money ends up.

My buddy just posted this today. He is buying a pre-built YJ. Figured I would throw this up in case anyone knows someone who wants a YJ in the philly area. I think it is fair for 78k and pretty much mint condition.

I live in NJ right over the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge and I work in Philly.

I am off on the weekends and would love to do some trails or go on a Jeep/Camping trip as Spring is right around the corner.

Yeah that sold in like 3 days for $6500 with stock rims and tires. Buyers drove the price up themselves. So now my buddy is doing $9k on a yj with a v8 and 42's.

On a side note, Just got a new Millermatic 211 yesterday. Anyone who needs welding repairs can let me know. I am in Roxborough.

That's amazing I've never seen a stocker YJ go for that much. V8 and 42s sounds badass.

I love this weather! I am going out Sunday, and will be out Monday too if it is bad enough to miss work.

Here is a pic of my buddie's new YJ. See if it holds up without breaking on Sunday. Tires that big and a v8 are nothing but trouble half the time. I will be putting in a v8 myself, but don't plan on going over 37's. That way I can abuse it quite a bit more.

Also getting this new welder dialed in on some 1/4" plate.

Yeah if I got to miss work and go Jeeping I'd love the up coming weather, going to be like a 3 day stretch shoveling/plowing.

That's a badass yj never been a fan of yjs till now lol. What kinda rears does he have under it?

Weldings always fun.

He bought it from a guy in nj Friday who let him keep the plates to get it home. If you can get it inspected I say its legal! We are in pa though.

Btw, we got that thing stuck a few times today. Lmao. Locked front and back with 42 tsl boggers and it still got stuck. That melting snow is making for awesome mud. To give you scale my orange yj is lifted about 7" with 33's.

Well gang, it is warming up now. Lets start to plan some weekend off road adventures.

And if anyone has any info on the Philly Airport, I hear there are some trails over there but that is about all I can find.

Yeah its fenced now, that place was sketchy. There were give or take 50-100 quads that rode back there and on the street, they also lit a car on fire one time, i saw it next day it looked like a scene out of mad max. cops cracked down put the fence up and patrol the area. Wouldn't recommend going back there, also there's people that set up traps to jack you. My buddy lost his bike few years back.

I still go there once in a great while, usually when i go fishing. Back entrance is fine and cops don't care about Jeeps. There are a lot of trails over there that are good for beginners. Getting overgrown now though.

Never knew there was a back entrance, figured they fenced the whole thing.

Nah. You can still get in. No more quads though, and the terrain is getting overgrown big time. Right next to the on ramp on the back side. Normally I never post enhances to places, but if people don't go back there it will be impassable by this fall. Pm me if you want the exact entrance location.

Also cops have seen me and others all over back there and never said anything. I don't drive right next to the fence and advertise though. I stay where all the good trails are in the back mostly. There are also a ton of trails between the river and the road. They have looked at me funny before surprised me and others were back there, but never stopped.

I think everyone in this thread knows I don't normally post spots. The only reason I consider this an exception is because no one know how to get in anymore. If no one hits it and tears up all the crap growing everywhere no one will be able to go there anymore. This is perfect for people with AT tires looking to wheel for the first time, al the way up to people with boggers. There are a couple holes there.

The bright yellow star is the only way in now. The other trails I mentioned are further up Ft Mifflin Rd between the rd and the river. They are trickier in regards to terrain.
