Powder coating rims?

I just recently ordered a new Jeep Sahara...its being built 2/11, and im phuckin stoked....that said I was not crazy about the Satin sparkle 18" rims, but the dealer would not assit me in getting some nice Black matte rims. My buddy says just get the ones that come stock powder coated, rather than buying new (e.g. Mickey Thompsons, etc.)......any thoughts on where to get this dones, Im near Limercik, PA..........

It'S my first Jeep!!

Thanks,
Matty16

A lot of folks plastidip their wheels it may be something to look into. It would give u basically the same look as powder coat for way cheaper. It would also give you an idea if you like the black look before you fork over the change for a powder coat job.

There is a shop in carlisle "powder plus". He powder coats rims for about 30 bucks a peice. great selection of colors, and quailty work. I just had 4 coil springs, 4 calipers, and 2 outter knuckles done for $100. Get it powdered once, and be done with it. plasti will scratch and peel over time.

I know this is an old thread..
I am looking at getting my beadlocks redone
the spray paint over last few ride seasons has scratched off from wheeling

does powder coating hold up better to spray paint.... seen something that for wet climate areas moisture can get underneath the powder coat and rust the material

how good does powder hold up to wheeling... we have mud trails..rocks..trees that we go thru
